If you're already employed, and I mean actually working, tell your recruiter to lick your dirty panties.
Ask your recruiter why he or she needs two originals. Once you have a wholly unsatisfactory answer, photocopy your degree and hand that photocopy over. DO NOT EVER give the recruiter your original. If immigration needs to verifiy your degree, you can hand carry it there yourself, present it, and get it back in one minute or less. |

Yeah, I am not employed. I actually ordered a degree and got it apostilled but it went to immigration with a contract that is no longer valid so I can't get back. I got my CBC back which is weird. When I made copies of the diploma with the apostille immigration knew they were copies and denied them.
Did people send colored copies of thier original diploma with no apostille, is my question?? Because if you sent a colored copy can they tell it is not the original.
I asked the school why I need 2 originals, so we'll see tonight.
I ma just curious what everyone else did |

If you're in your home country, you can take (or send, I think) your original degree to the Korean consulate, pay a few dollars to get a consulate certified and stamped copy of your original degree that will function as an original.
As far as having access to 2 originals, my uni won't even do that. I asked them because I wanted to have multiples in case anything happened to my original with all these Korean degree shenanigans. My uni said no. You can't have an extra unless something happens to your original (lost, stolen, whatever). My guess is that they probably would require me to present some police report indicating that I've reported it as such to the police before they would issue me another.
The really worisome part is that it then takes about 6 weeks for them to get me a replacement since they don't print themselves but rather have farmed out that operation to some company in the Midwest. Very worrisome.
I intend to find out if I can send my original degree to the Korean consulate back in my hometown, Seattle, and get some of these consulate-certified copies. I would feel a lot safer with some extras.
Get several of those consulate-certified copies.

Yeah. Maybe the recruiter means transcripts. I was required to provide 2 copies of that. |

That's a little screwy. I know a lot of N. American Universities offer degrees on demand, but thats not the case everywhere in the world.
I went to university in Scotland and tried to order a replacement degree when I thought I had lost mine and was told it was impossible. They simply do not issue more than one degree per life time. The best I could get would be a letter saying that I had graduated, not a new degree certificate. Luckily I found mine, and I hadn't actually lost it.
My degree has now been through immigration's hands' 5 times and they haven't lost it yet. I'm hoping the trend continues or my Uni starts issuing replacement degrees before I get married. |

Korean immigration never asks for 2 original copies of the degree diploma. But do usually require 2 copies of the sealed transcripts. You will also usually get the Original Diploma back after you arrive .. But do not usually get the CBC back |

Thanks for the help everybody...yeah, my college only gives you the one diploma when you graduate. If you lose that you get that crappy one, not the nice one with the raised seal. I guess I'll make copies and send the original off. It just sucks b/c they have my diploma with apostille sitting at immigration and they won't let me use!! |
