Is there any way to get around the copy protection?
Here's the situation in the lemming household:
We have a DVD recorder, and I can record to HDD, or I can record to DVD. But either way, I can only watch the recorded programme on that particular DVD recorder. Sucks if I want to watch it on another machine.
I have a DVD capable PC, but it doesn't even recognise the copy-protected files on the disc. It just says "0 objects on this disc" at the bottom of the window, so I can't rip the file.
I also have a PC with a TV tuner, and I can watch cable on it through the line-in channel, but when I use the record function (which, I should point out, records terrestrial TV and other copy-unprotected content just fine), I get an error message: this content cannot be recorded because it is copy protected.
Is there any way I can get around this? |
