So, I've had about four internet connections so far since I've lived in Korea. I've had severe problems with three of them, and a problem with the fourth one as well, which was my fault.

This time around, with my new computer, I'm being disconnected every five minutes from the ISP. Well, not so much disconnected, but I seem to be losing bandwidth like mad and the longer I seem to stay on the slower and more miserable my connection becomes. I can't play any internet games, and I can't download much.

Right now I'm downloading AVG and Adaware to see if they help. Any other suggestions?

After your AVG scan you might want to run hijackthis:

Run the program, but DON'T DELETE anything.

Copy the text that it gives you and paste it into this site:

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis

click "analyze" and look for any red warnings in the results. You should then delete the red entries using the hijackthis software. But be careful deleting! Don't delete everything.

Good luck.

Okay, I'll try that when I get home. I'm worried about it being malware or something. Last night I ran AVG and this morning I turned on Adaware before I left and let it do a deep system scan. Depending on what that turns up, I will run the hijackthis software tonight too.
