I would suggest getting a Korean to call the pension office and ask them about that.

I was told 5 years, but that may have changed since I withdrew my money a couple of years ago. If it's still the same, you may be screwing yourself out of a nice chunk of change.

You are eligible for 4.5 years of pension which amounts to 4.5% (your share) + 4.5% (employer share) = 9.0% total of 4.5 years of salary.

You should get all of 9% if you quit now.

At our uni, you don't get the uni's contribution unless you stay five years. There is no partial payout. You have to put your five years in.

I suppose you meet the other criteria as well: private uni., no Nat. Pension, no severance as well?
