|
|
A few months back, there appeared to be a demand for a blacklist website for agencies and recruiters. Unfortunately, the response rate was extremely low. For anyone interested, I have made some new revisions to agents/recruiters to avoid including Sonic Language Solutions and R Global Net (surprisingly both foreigner owned agencies-sad to say).

Justin, that link goes to a login page.
Any way to see the forum w/out logging in? |

Reckon the response rate is slow as it is a very poor layout for the site and then you post a link here that requires the user to login. |

Any chance that a hagwon and recruiter blacklist be posted as a sticky here? |

I would think a sticky would eliminate people searching in this website and finding nothing.
However, I am aware that some of those who deserve to be blacklisted sponsor this website. Just like Ebay, "NO BAD FEEDBACK". |

Don't know what happened to the website. Was working a few days ago. Sent PM to the creator. Perhaps he decided not to upkeep it due to lack of participation and membership enrollment. Regardless of the web layout, it was a good idea, although shortlived. I have come to the conclusion that people often complain about their negative experiences, yet are unwilling to be proactive and help others from experiencing the same fate. Hopefully, the information posted reached some people . . .
BTW the whole reason the website was created was due to the agenda and mandate of this one . . . . |

Can you post the blacklisted peoples names and pictures of them? |

Am I wrong, or didn't you used to post claiming having nothing to do with the ESL industry? Why the change of heart? |

Actually this site was hosted by me but never took off. I didn't have the time to devote to it as I'm too busy with starcraft. As such, the content aspect of the site was left to justin (and a few others) and it had a rocky start. After almost 5-6 months I decided to pull the plug on it (as seen by the dead page).
One reason is that the domain name is registered to me and it would be all too easy to trace back. I will have to go through a Top Secret Security Clearance so less "google" info linked to my name is the better.
Another reason is that the domain name was too neutral and ambiguous. Esl-blacklist.com/net/org are open, along with many variations.
So if someone wants to buy the $10 domain name, I will happily host the site for them free of charge. I just don't want to develop or maintain. So if someone wants to take charge, send me a pm.
So yeah, my apologies on trying to undertake the website. I hope someone else will try to make a real run at this with better development skills than me. |

I am actively involved in the ESL industry among other things. I have many work interests beyond just teaching English. I understand the frustration dealing with shady recruiters/agencies, and was hopeful in providing a support network and information sharing website. |

My level of commitment was to act as a moderator, provide my (somewhat) extensive experience with agents/recruiters, respond to other comments, and encourage instructors to validate claims (using a system HOMER had suggested). Although there was some viewership, very few people responded or included comments of their own. I didn't have the time to search through Dave's and other websites to provide links to complaints against agents/recruiters.
Again, some people complained about the website layout, however, who really cares about aesthetics when people just had to share experiences in as factual a way as possible (with their own pre-suppositions and biases of course).
SPLIFF:
You have already done that for me. Thanks! |
