Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if there are any other overnight ways of getting to Banaue other than the 10pm bus I keep hearing about. My flight doesn't arrive in Manila until 1030 so I'm trying to find some other overnight options if possible. There seems to be a few people here who know a lot about the Philippines so i thought I could ask here!
thanks! |

a) Wait outside the airport on the bench until the 1st morning bus.
b) Catch a V-hire (shared van)
c) Hire a car
d) Get a hotel and then option "A"
(just search manila in the travel forum and you will find information on hotel names with airport pickup.)

The v-hire is at the terminal/stop and stays till it is full. When it is full it leaves and the next one takes its place in the line. Continue and repeat. I don't know about running times for late night.
Also, night driving could be considered an extreme / hazardous sport in the Philippines.
My personal advice would be to grab a hotel /pension and catch a bus out the next morning.

I took the overnight bus from Banaue and it was fine, just make sure you take the luxury one (hardly any more expensive) and you'll have a ton of space and on-board toilet.
Banaue was a massive disappointment though; staying there for 2 hrs was more than enough for me. |
