Has anyone taken their dog or cat on the KTX? Is it possible? I know it's not allowed on the buses.

I've taken a cat on a bus twice. As far as I have heard, it can depend on the bus drivers attitude towards pets on his bus. I stand to be corrected though. I think, as long as the animal is in a good crate or transport case, it should be ok. And if it is calm and quiet during the trip it will also probably help.
If the KTX will allow it, it's probably better to do it that way. Bus takes far too long.

In a pet taxi (closed caged), yes, it's fine on the KTX. At least, I did it.

I've done it a couple of times. You're supposed to have a carrier (but I took a cocker spaniel on my lap from Daegu to Gwangmyeong once and they tolerated us).

Several times. No problems.

Poppycock. I take the bus all the time to and from the vet with all 4 of my cats with me. No one has said a word for the year I've done this. This also includes intercity buses Daejeon to Seoul.

Its allowed, I have brought 4 dogs at a time on the buses, sometimes I get into arguments with the drivers (only in Daejeon), but their rules state that it is allowed as long as the animal is crated, in a soft sided crate. They can try to make you put large dogs underneath (which could be VERY DANGEROUS AND STUPID).

On the KTX it is much easier to bring your pets. Just don't be a push over.
