Just make sure you emphasize that it is good for one's "stamina" and you will have them lining up. Oh sorry, Westerners know about Viagra. |

By that rationale, are we also all coons in Korea too? Or niggers? Here was I thinking, that all racial slurs would be bad user names. |

Actually, I think that's what we are. No doubt there's some nasty names for us in Korean.
I agree with you about the user names though, that's why I chose "drunkenfud" instead of "Jungle Bunny". |

Hey...It's coonass...well, if you're from South La and not a Cajun. Oh, yeah, do they eat horse over there? I had horse once but it was under the guise of beef. |

My husband said it's the tail of Hong-or.... or flat fish.
We had eels last night for dinner and one of the side dishes was that. Simply the most disgusting thing on earth. Yet, hubby said it's expensive!
Only in korea. |

Jeolla Province is famous for it. The first time I tried it, I thought I was mistakingly eating part of the table setting. The more you chew, the stronger the taste gets and the more overpowering the smell. |

Doesn't old Dave himself have to approve usernames.
So Dave must have approved the name Gollywog.
Interesting. |

I think you can buy this in the supermarket, right? It comes in a little box? Has a picture of a skate like fish on it?
Anyway, I bought that, and took it home. After one bite, my thought was, "Humans can't consider this food, can they?" and it went into the garbage. |

Skate is pretty nasty stuff. There's one trick to make it ever so slightly less vile, though: put a little piece of it on a lettuce leaf, slather it in really strong gochujang, put a piece of bosam (steamed pork) on top, put a little piece of fresh gochu (pepper) on it, and chew.
It's actually not so bad that way. You can hardly taste the pissiness of the ammonia.
Unfortunately it's still got all those sharp little bones in it still.
As for those penile sea worms...they really have no taste at all. They serve them sliced up and you dip them in sesame oil and soy sauce and or wasabe. The texture is kind of interesting; gelatious, yet firm.
They look a lot worse in the tank. On the plate they are relatively harmless, and look a bit like something you might blow out your nose after getting wallopped in it the night before. Kind of a congegaled nasal blood slug, let's say, but more grayish. |

What you ate was most likely the skin/tailbone/cartilage of the Monkfish. You probably ate 아구찜. Was the entire dish red, spicy, with a lot of ben sprouts? |

Regarding Bosam, I love that stuff. I can live for 3 days off a take-out order of Bosam from One Grandmother Bosam, I think it's one of the best Korean foods, better than galbi. I never had pork that tender back in the States.
I cut out red meat (pork is red meat, don't believe those ads!) from my diet, the thing I miss most is Bosam. |
