So I've found a job that has everything I want (perhaps a case of too good to be true). Great money, good hours, nice location. So I contacted the recruiter from Enative Korea and, being the wary, cautious person I am (having been burned by recruiters before) said I was interested in the position but wondering if they could show me that they were registered with the Labor Board and so on. So I received an email back saying this:
Hi,
Thanks for your email.
First of all, my company is not registered. I don't know what kind of problem with a recruitor you've had before. I think there's nothing problem between the teacher and the recruitor. Because, you are not contract with my conpany and we do not charge any fee from you. We just intruduce the teacher to the shool and give the teacher correct information which we got from the school to make a right decision.
You know what...I have been working in this field over 5 years but i've nerver heard about this kind of questions.
Anyway, If you are not confortable with that we are not registered, that's fine.
Thanks,
********
I've also found nothing about the company except other job postings. Now, before I cross this prospect off my list (which is a shame as it sounds like a good job!), has anyone had any experience with this recruiter? I know some of you may think I'm a fool for still considering applying for the job, but when you see the perfect job, it seems a shame to have to let it go.
Thanks for your help. |

Sorry OP
You know what they say about something that sounds too good to be true.
If you can get ahold of references from teachers who have worked there, it might be worth considering. If not... maybe best not to take the chance! |

did you ask them this information before you had even applied/interviewed/been offered a position for this job? why don't you just apply and go from there? i applied for a position through e-native (one of the "too good to be true" types) and found out exactly why it hadn't been taken yet...try applying first, then ask the relevant questions. |

Thanks for your reies.
Yes I did ask them for this before I applied for the position as I didn't want to get myself into something I couldn't get out of.
So was it the school itself that was the problem or the recruiter?
Thanks again. |

OP -
it wasn't the recruiter at all. the representative was polite, if businesslike (which, in some cases, is a good thing). he seemed pretty desperate to hire for the position, despite the 2.7-3.2 mil/month pay. didn't seem like many takers. found a few things that bothered me with the contract. i didn't accept the position and the recruiter moved on.
you're never obligated to do anything until you sign the contract and arrive. everything before that is up to you, which is why you should simply apply to every opening that interests you. keep your options open. |
