Looking to come back to Seoul.
What's the deal with after-school programs, why are they not grabbed by everyone?
My buddy said that it's because they don't offer housing.
Any ideas?
I'm looking to a program run by WIN - edu. Any word on them, it looks like a good organization.
Thanks,
BT

What's the deal....

Most do NOT offer housing,
Most do NOT offer medical,
Most do NOT offer pension,
Many do not offer severance.
Many DO play you with the double bank account scam.

You get the worst of both worlds....

You get all the disadvantages of a hakwon
AND
you get NONE of the advantages of a PS position.

Great deal (NOT) if you can get one (EASY)....

.

I know the search function is not ideal but try using it for win education. I am sure I saw some threads recently and they got a far from glowing reference.

Don't go there. Stay away from Win. It's not win-win. Trust me.

I'd go into detail, but I won't bother. Just don't do it.

I'll give everyone an update once I get my E2 with my new school and I deal with Win. They'll get their upcomings from me.

Win will defraud you out of your soul if they think that you'll let them get away with it.

My ASP is great. They are probably the best you can get with an ASP program.

They DO pay housing.
They DID pay key money on my housing.
They LET me find my own housing.

The School I work for:
They DO pay me on time according to what the contract stated.
They DO pay into my pension.
They DO pay into my health insurance.

The hours are great. The time off is even better. Not the best gig in Korea but it's a breeze.

They let me do what I want when I am not working.

Granted there are a hell of a loads of more ASPs that suck ass. It's a matter of interviewing like mad in person and weeding out who is not worthy of your time.

Good luck. If you need any more info, don't hesitate to PM me.
