Quote:
"Republicans will make a fundamental if not fatal mistake if they seek to win the election by demonising Barack Obama," Huckabee told a news conference on a visit to Tokyo.

The former Arkansas governor said that, having grown up in the segregated South, he never thought he would see an African-American win the nomination of a major party for the US presidency.

"I do not want to have anyone misrepresent or miss the opportunity to celebrate what I think is a landmark achievement, not just for Barack Obama, but for the United States of America," he said.

He's full of shit and making a play from Rove's book (Rove already said this). Huckabee is an idiot and bigot at best.

what are you talking about dude? Huckabee might be a little nutty on economic policy and whatnot, but he ran a rather positive campaign and seems to be a pretty upstanding guy for the most part. Have no idea why you think he is a bigot (well, minus his comments about mormons). He was one of the few people out there who expressed sympathy for Rev. Wright.

I have to say, I like Mike Huckabee. I didn't at first but the more I read about him the more I like the guy. Besides, what other governor would live in a trailer.

I think Huckabee isn't really that bad of a guy. Personally I disagree with him on his policies, but I think he would have been a much tougher opponent then McCain.

The Republicans ought not attack Obama much instead they ought to run against Jimmy Carter and Hizzbollah and Al Qaeda

The best shot for the GOP is

1) to remind the US public what happens when a liberal is in charge.

and to

2) show how evil and cruel Al Qaeda , Hizzbollah and Iran's government are. In fact pour it on. Make sure that everyone in the US knows who Imad Mugniyah and Ali Khamani are.

So I would say don't run against Obama, run against Jimmy Carter and Hizzbollah instead. There is lots of stuff perhaps unlimited to hit them with

In fact that was why I did two threads on Jimmy Carter.

It is hard to defend Jimmy Carter and impossible to defend Hizzbollah. It would change the electorate to a more Republican sympathetic atmosphere.

That would be hysterical. Don't vote for Jimmy Carter in 2008 ads everywhere.

I think the main problem with all these ideas, is granted the American public is really dumb and gullible, so yeah, really dumb things are believed by most Americans.

But this election, you see Obama challenging every peice of ridiculous mud that gets thrown. With Kerry, it would stick, as he didn't hold press conferences or address the idiocy of it. But with Obama, he does address it. Each time it is addressed, the GOP looks ridiculous from it.

So, looks like Republicans are going to be held a lot more accountable for their ridiculous mud-slinging propoganda and will need to address and be accountable for it each time instead. Obama isn't Kerry.

the Republicans also ought to run against Move On.

For this strategy to work the Republicans really need to pour it on.

If anyone really thinks such a strategy is foolish remember In Germany running against Bush and the Iraq war helped win an election neither of which had much to do with Germany.

Hizzbollah on the other hand has been behind attacks on Americans.

I am not a born again Christian, but I think Chuck Norris is a good guy, and I don't think Norris would back a guy who is a slime ball.

Which could provide Obama with the perfest segue into asking why exactly Iran today has so much more influence in Iraq than it did in 2002. And do you really want four more years of the gang who brought us that balance of power in the middle east.

Joo, I don't think foreign policy is going to be a GOP strong suit this year, with administration officials admitting that they did not anticipate an insurgeny going into Iraq. Obama knows where the bodies are buried, and he's not afraid to dig them up.

I still think such a discussion favors McCain, cause he won't go back to 9/10 and he will spend more on the military stuff that would scare them.

And since Mr Obama would not vote to list Iran's Revolutionary guard as a terror group (though since he changed his mind ) he won't be able to do really well in this area.

Anyway I would try to make it that every American knows who Imad Mugniyah was.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imad_Mugniyah

But I am glad to hear your opinion.

Jimmy Carter just happened to be the president when the Federal Reserve inflated the money supply to monetize the Vietnam war debt and caused inflation. It wasn't until the Fed chair Volker raised the interest rate to 21% and broke inflationary expectations that the economy began to recover. Certainly not Carter's fault as he didn't start the Vietnam war and neither did he inflate the currency.

Another example of how those behind the scenes never get blamed for what damage they cause except by those of us who can see behind the curtain.

Al Qaeda is a fiction, showing how cruel they are is going to be tough, at least to those of us who know better.

See: "The Power of Nightmares assesses whether the threat from a hidden and organised terrorist network is an illusion. In the concluding part of the series, the programme explains how the illusion was created and who benefits from it."

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2798679275960015727
And, please, spare us with the conspiracy blather, The Power of Nightmares was produced by BBC.

Show us one thing that Iran has done in the last 100 years to anyone outside their country that makes them so cruel. And I can show you dozens of things the US government has done both inside and outside the US that demonstrates convincingly how cruel the US government is.

As for Hizzbollah, the cruel one in that case is Israel.

Not don't vote for Jimmy Carter adds everywhere but remind everyone of his record.Though don't vote for Jimmy Carter could be a useful bumper sticker for the election. I still think George Bush as unpopular as he is now could beat Jimmy Carter in an election.

As for ridiculous mud -slinging propaganda it goes both ways.
The other target I suggested is Hezzbollah. If everyone really knows about them the the American public will be less liberal.

Obama doesn't have much of a record and he is someone that people with sympathize with. but McCain can win if there is a small change in the political atmosphere.

Hugabee is just another duped christian.

From http://www.conspiracypenpal.com/rants/barack.htm

Obama's mother was White, but you never hear anything about her side of his family. Obama talks only of the African man who conceived Obama while wed to another and then abandoned him. From Obama's first little book,

Dreams of My Father: "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race."

Also from Dreams of My Father: "I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites."

I ceased to advertise my mother's race? Whatever for? Does Obama hate his mother's race? Sure does, Obama even admits it.

Obama was a member of virulent racist, anti-White Rev. Wright's church for 20 years. Wright performed the Obamas' marriage. Only after a public outcry did Obama condemn Rev. Wright's "God damn America" sermon.

Dreams of My Father: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."

Almost the instant after confirming his capture of the Democrat Presidential nomination, Barack Obama appeared before the single largest Jewish lobbying organization, AIPAC, and pronounced, "As president I will never compromise when it comes to Israeli security." Obama also spoke of strengthening US-Israeli relations and giving Israel $30 billion to "ensure Israel's qualitative military advantage." Speaking of Iran, Obama stated twice that, "I will do everything in my power to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon ... everything."

Then, consider the following from Obama's wife Michelle's graduate thesis: "There was no doubt in my mind that as a member of the black community, I am obligated to this community and will utilize all of my present and future resources to benefit the black community first and foremost." Nice sentiment from a potential First Lady, eh?

Obama refuses to place his hand on his heart when the National Anthem is played.

Obama will be good for America - for Jewish America, for black America and for Muslim America, but Obama will be a disaster for white America.
