Has anybody been to Carribean Bay in Everland? My guess is that the lines are very long, and there will be way too many people to make it enjoyable. Worth it or not worth it? I think it's like 50k per day. |

If you go before school lets out for the summer, worth it.
If you go after, the lines are just too long in the baking hot sun.
That's why I came to Osaka last week, so I could go to Universal Studios and ride more than 2 things the entire day. I never waited more than 10 minutes on any ride/show all day. Same when I went to Caribbean Bay last June.
But once the kiddies are let out? Mobs of Chaos. |

The life guards are pretty yummy. Get a bunch of friends (from diff.schools), chuck a mass sickie and hire a car, go mid-week. Great fun. |

I went to both these places with my first hagwon back in 2002. Everland we went during the winter on a weekday, if I recall correctly, and it was completely deserted. I hear they just got a new roller coaster installed there, so if you're into that check it out.
Caribbean bay we went to in summer and it was crowded. Two highlights. My buddy was a dude from Kentucky who grew a long mountain man type beard (no mustache, Abe Lincoln on steroids) simply to scare Koreans. He also had a lot of chest hair *and* back hair, so whenever Koreans saw him running around the kids would freak out. Hilarious.
Another highlight was the 5 year old girl, who walks three feet into the water at the wave machine and promptly starts vommiting, with dozens of people around her. I grab her by the hand and lead her to the bathroom, asking one of the ajummas to clean her up.
There were some slim, attractive women in bikinis when I visited. There were ajummas as well.

There's definately some very hot chicks there is you go on a weekend. And Korean girls (some of 'em) do have *beep* and azz.

Stay away from the wave pool or the lazy river, and the ratio is outstanding. |

Sounds like I'd have busy hands in the lazy river. Ajumma asses all wet and poking through innertubes are like a teenage dream. |

Go midweek if you can. Yeah, lotsa ajummas and kids running around, but also lotsa hot chicks in skimpy bikinis. You can get in the hot tubs and get real close to them if you want.
I liked the wave pool. But it's the most crowded attraction in the whole place. Can also get close to hot chicks here. |

I went in mid-summer. There were lots of hotties, but I think I was the only person in the entire park not wearing a life jacket.
Also, I wasn't allowed to ride the waterslides because I didn't have a swim cap. I'm bald, but it didn't matter. My girlfriend, however, was fine with her almost waist length hair tied up in a bandana. More K-logic, go figure. |

I'll all for cleanliness. But when you're so obsessed with it that a nationalistic past time is scrubbing each other down on benches in bathhouses , like little gay lady Mcbeths .....well....time maybe for some self reflection. The whole country is obsessive compulsive. |

They often do wear skimpy bikinis, but then the cover them up with winter clothing when they go swimming.
I'm very surprised that Korean Olympic swimmers don't wear a t-shirt and pants when they compete. |

I have been to Carribean Bay in Everland, and just recently visited the Ocean world at Vivaldi Resort in Gangwon-do, and I have to say Ocean world was much more worth the money. If you have the time and don't mind the travel take a short few hour trip from Seoul and go to Vivaldi Resort. It was a blast. We spend one night and two days there and it cost just over $250 for lodging, all of our food, and two entrances into the
Ocean World. The normal Ticket price is $40 and during the week it is less packed, but during the summer break I am sure it will be crowded. It wasn't nearly as dirty as Carribean Bay IMHO, and the lines were not long by any means. Also, everything was way more accessible than at the Bay. I am married, but my wife and I had plenty of flesh to look at if we wanted. Not sure where the Koreans come across with foreigners exposing a little flesh, from what I would say was a blatant display of revealing it to the edge in my estimation. Sorry no website, but I am sure someone who has been there will have one.
All in all it was a fun time and we will definitely go there again in the near future. It is really worth it. |
