how necessary is air-con in Thailand in July? rooms with fans are cheaper than aircon, and I want to save money, but will I suffer without aircon? i find Korean summers too hot.

I was thinking the same thing last year, so i rented a fan room and a friend got an air con room..i stayed in he's room.

It really is worth the extra, as its only a very small amount more.

Air con is the way to go. Will only cost you max 5K won extra for air con. Also if you took a room with a fan you could become a casualty of fan death.

It is hot in Bangkok at that time no doubt about it. It also rains a lot then. It really depends on you. Are you used to air con? If you are, then better to be comfortable than not. Pay for comfort if you can.

I had a room with an air con in Pattaya for 500 baht a night. The air con made so much noise that it kept me awake and it was too cold so I turned it off.

This hotel must of had a master switch at the front desk and they radomly turned it off.
