ive been looking at ssanticket.co.kr, www.072.co.kr, www.whypaymore.co.kr, and www.onlinetour.co.kr, but there isn't that much in the way of options on these sites these days.

does anyone know a better website for flights to SE Asia? I know you can often find good deals on the airlines' websites, but i'm looking for consolidators such as the website i mentioned above.

i appreciate any and all help.

I recommend travel.yahoo.com. It has an option where it searches dozens of other travel sites for the best bargain and connects you do them.

You'll need a major credit card or debit card bearing the visa or mc logo to purchase. Standard Korean bank debit cards aren't accepted.

If necessary, I've heard it's simple to get a visa card from IBK bank. Alternately, you can do what I did and open a bank account online with WAMU (www.wamu.com) in the states and then use the debit card (with mc logo) they give you for the purchase. You have to give them a US address though.

I tried to buy a ticket from onlinetour.kr,
but I needed to join membership.

It asks for foreigner's number- can someone tell me what that is?
I entered Korea without any visa with an American passport as a tourist.

Thanks!

You might not be able to do it then. I would recommend using your visa, amex or mastercard to purchase from a non-Korean website. Search around enough and you stand a good chance of finding a similar fare. I usually start with travel.yahoo.com. They have a "farechase" function that searches mulitple websites. Another good one is www.airlineconsolidator.com. It's a little more cumbersome to use, but has some good deals on it. Good Luck!

And it's not only for students.

it is the number listed on an alien registration card. since you don't have one, registering with those websites isn't an option. perhaps you can ask a Korean friend to give you a hand?

Do a search for "airline consolidators" on Google. Plenty of options, many flights much less than other places.
