wow.

He's also a role model in American society. Ever heard of punk rock

Your role models are juvenile idiots?

So...because he was supposedly a talented musician....all crimes he commits should be forgiven?

U must really be a naive little hero worshipper. I suppose you want them to let Gary Glitter out of jail even though he sexually abused children?

You people are all products of the media. One of the big lessons of punk is don't just blindly believe everything the media tells you. For example the stare that Lydon used to give. All the posers on Kings road tried to copy it. This was because he had Spinal Mennegitus(sp)

Another thing about Johnny was he though spitting on the audience was vulgar. He even stopped a concert once because a fan spit on him.

Don't try to put Lydon and Glitter in the same catagory. You are really ignorant when it comes to music.

I'm sure the mentally defective are naturally good at music, but your role model is a cowardly, maladjusted suffering creature who picks on little girls. He's also quite ugly.
I have no such hormonal teenage hero worship for other humans. If he looked at me the wrong way in a bar I'd probably fire a shot of phlegm into his face.

If he looked at you the wrong way at a bar. It was because he had Spinal Mennegitis as a child. If you had it you would have that punk rock stare too. Do you spit on people who have half their face paralyzed from a stroke. If you really want to put this person down. Why don't you watch the movie The Filth and the Fury. Only rednecks attack what they don't understand. Do you really want to go through life acting like an extra from
"Deliverance"

Your reacting to what is basically a rumour. May I add he has not been charged crimminally that it's a civil case. This should be a red flag that the bitch just wants his money and he never laid a hand on her. Then again it was OK. for James Brown to beat his wives black and blue but no one seems to mind. Then again James Brown had a more mainstream following.

I found this quote I think you'll really like it

" My personal view on punk rock is that it's nauseating, disgusting, degrading, ghastly, sleazy puritant, voyaristic
and generally nauseating".

" I think most of these bands would be vastly improved by sudden death.
Currently the worst are the Sex Pistols and they are incredibly nauseating.
I just wish someone would just dig a big hole and drop them all in it".

I bet his wives minded. And besides, weren't you just providing as evidence of punk being good the fact that the mainstream rejects it??

Every music genre seems to have the die hard types who actually believe the hype. The 'ravers' and their PLUR. The punks being not mainstream (how many cd's did NOFX, Rancid or the Sex Pistols sell?). Country as the working mans music. etc.

Controversial and obnoxious idiots thrive in tolerant western societies. Thier sensation is an antidote to the boredom of civilised society.

such twits would be eaten alive, if they actually had to live in a 3rd world country that is the epitome of the popular and exciting "anarchy" they espouse.

anarchy is a big word for a white boy from England. Lets send him to Liberia or Zimbabwe and see if he really is a hero.

Lydon hasn't made anything even remotely punk for at least thirty years.
Most of the best punk was the late seventies stuff. Partcularly The Clash,
The Damned and The X Ray Spexs.

Most of the stuff called hardcore is rubbish. The DK's are Ok.

Bands are just people who make music. I take absolutely no social, political and authenticity cues from them. I might as well listen to Sharon Stone ramble on about Tibet if I'm going to look to punk music for insights into modern society.

But in Britain, people actually get prosecuted for that. ie Paul McCartney.
