Tooooo much money. What next, a building that jumps up and down? A breakdancing skyscraper?
It's like one of those dolls that spits up or pees itself: a weird gimmick that people will eventually look back on and go 'wtf were we thinking?'

Damn that's cool.
All they need is solar panel windows, and thermopower from the ground and it would be an awesome building.
It'd be a bitch to fix though. |

Yeah...I guess it is pretty cool...but if you really want to take in the scenery, can't you just go up to the observation deck, and like, turn around? |

well, the cost to build it will be expensive. But in the end, it generates power, and money from tourism.
Realistically. if every building had wind, solar, and thermo power, we'd be way better off. |

How the hell do they keep the plumbing intact? Will they use Rubber piping, or tubing? So strange. Shouldn't be happening. I do like the idea of breakdancing Skyscraper. That would be good in Seoul. All the B Boys around it doing that screwdriver upside down spin.
We are talking about skyscrapers in class. I was showing slides of Burj Dubai to my students. They didn't give a rats ass about what they were watching. Most of them were talking or falling asleep. When I mentioned that Samsung was managing the construction of it, all my students became suddenly very excited. Some were clapping and throwing their hands in the air.
I tried to tell these kids, they are at a pretty high level of comprehension, that there is controversey surrounding the construction of Burj Dubai. Seems that most of the construction workers come from China, or Pakistan among a few other countries, and they are making a whopping $7.60 USD PER DAY. Talk about cheap as all hell. My students didn't care when I told them about this. They continued to yell "Asah!" |

Wow, it's the worlds' first animatronic dynamic skyscaper in the most dynamic city on Earth. This is one big oil tycoon kind of toy. Wait until the oil and financial markets crash to see just how it comes to a screeching halt after they spun their big bucks around a few times too many in speculating prices too high in futures markets... |

Did you see that amusement park on top of one of the high rises? One ride swings the riders out over the edge of the building! |

I dunno...I know a teacher here in NY who's leaving to go teach there. He's got an ESL teaching cert., Masters in Education and says he'll be making a little less than what a starting teacher would be making here in NYC ($42,500 USD). Maybe he's bullshitin' |

lol wut?
Actually though, the plumbing wouldn't be too hard. Each floor remains fixed so you could do each floor normally. It also appears to remain on a fixed axis, so all you would need to do is design a branch section of the main pipe that can rotate.
Unfortunately I'd have to draw a picture to show really clearly what I mean. |

The way I see it is, hey, Dubai could be like the rest of the countries in the region and just build weapons, fight wars, go on jihads, etc., with all that free time and money... but look... they're actually doing something constructive! bravo! Hopefully the others can follow in their footsteps! |

Personally, I like the Ferrari INSIDE the apartment. I guess he figured out a way to drive cars up buildings too. I hope they all invest well, or there will be a big crash there. |
