So where?
Can you get the work visa in Fukuoka? I had to fly to Tokyo and take a train to Osaka when I did it in 2005.
What's the deal? What are their office hours? |

There's a K-consulate in Fukuoka. I don't know the hours.
Kangsan and Xanadu Travel have hydrofoil/hotel packages if you don't want to fly. |

I just went on my visa run in March. The K consulate keeps standard government business hours. A travel agent charged 210 k won for a round trip on the ferry (3 hours one-way) Busan-Fukuoka & one night in a decent hotel in the center of Fukuoka. I thought the cost of food was reasonable there, and Taxis are on par with a big US city. The Korean consulate in Fukuoka charged 5400 or 6000 Yen for the work visa depending on whether it's an E1 or E2. |

You can use any of the Korean consulates in Japan. The 3 most popular (in decending order) are:
Osaka (fly direct from Incheon 6 morning flights every day)
Fukuoka (usually people from southern Korea who catch the ferry instead of a flight.
Tokyo (most expensive in terms of overall cost and hardest to get to from the airport).
Details are in the FAQs and the visa run sticky in the travel forum. |

uh, if you flew to Tokyo and then took a train to Osaka - and did that willingly, just for a visa run, no other reason -??
I'd say you have more to worry about than where the consulate is |
