I'm thinking of going to Thailand for my summer vacation. I would like to see Bangkok. To be honest i want to party and blow off some steam. I'd also like to see a bit more than just bars and clubs though. I will have about 7 days there. Can anyone give me advice regarding accomodation, safety, sights, day trips. Anything you can think of will be considered.
Also i don't have set dates for my vacation but when i do is there anyone who knows of any cheap flights? Also if anyone is looking for a travel buddy then that would be cool. |

This should really be a sticky, given the amount of questions people have... |

^I know.
Thailand is such an exotic and untraveled place. There is such little information about it available on the Internet or in books.
I can't believe how adventurous these people are being traveling there alone.

There are Islands of various levels of seclusion, sounds like you might like Samui, which is party central. The beach there is nice too.
You can get to Samui by direct flights from Bangkok on Bangkok air. Cheaper way would be to fly Air Asia to Surat Thani and then ferry. Still cheaper is overnight train to surat thani then ferry.
You can enjoy the beach all day and party all night and see hundreds of other English teachers from Korea, cause it is nice and easy. |
