Above 2.5? Easy. I haven't worked for that little since 2005.

And you attained this... how? Barring polygamy.

Me too... except for the bench pressing 300 kg. I can do 301Kg

I got a part time morning job for a few days a week, paying about 400-500 a month. Adding to my 2.4 at my full time position, that made over 2.5.

In early 2006 I landed a Saturday job paying 800-1 million a month, and I did that for a bit. After I got my F2 visa, it's been all gravy since then,

Isn't an F-2 a visa that someone gets when they marry a Korean?

If you have an acumen for writing, doing part-time textbook writing can be a good supplemental income. Plus, you can work at home in your underwear if you so desire.

In my case, I've been making an extra 2.8 million a month doing writing work about 12 hours a week. Between this, my private lesson and my full-time job, I earn quite a bit more than 2.5 million. About two-and-a-half times as much, actually.

As Ilsanman said, making above 2.5 is easy.

If you want some suggestions, I'm plenty willing to offer them.

FustianC, could you PM me. I have a few questions for you (if you don't mind), and I don't have PM privileges. I'm a newbie that is coming out to Korea in the next month or so.

Thanks!

with an F visa is it better to take some part time gigs rather than a full time job plus 1 part time?

I`m assuming with PT jobs you`re going to be paying for your own apartment, insurance, airfare etc so not sure if it works out better?

Making above 2.5 is pretty easy. Making above 3.0 requires a little elbow grease. Making 3.5+ takes skill.

You can easily make over 2.5 by getting a part time gig in the morning, evenings, or weekends on top of your regular full time job.

On an F2 visa it is much easier to make above 2.5

I work lots of part time gigs - have a class room in my apartment - first class at 11 am and I never work after 8pm.

I dont work for less than 50,000 an hour. I do not travel further than 10 minutes from my apartment.

I average about 350,000 a day - 6 days a week.

Hopefully I will be able to get more private students coming to my home - groups of 4 (each paying 25,000 an hour).

I am making pretty good money - but still working a little too much -

I think this thread should be titled "How to make over 2.5 million on an E2 visa".

Most people know if you have an F series you have more freedom when it comes to taking on extra work. MOST teachers here are on an E2 and don't qualify, and never will qualify. I understand that a lot of posters on here are just being honest about how they make their money, but it does start to get irritating listening to people go on about raking in the dough when they have a major advantage. Call me crazy, but I'm not going to marry someone just for the visa.

There seem to be a bunch of people on here making above average salaries. Any advice on how to get to that level?
Welcome to the internet. Claim you make 5M a month for 20 hours a week and it shall be so!
So true, so true. Better yet, claim you make 5 million for 20 hours a week with 16 hours a day spent blogging. Some of these guys are definitely liars and/or are doing something illegal. But to each his own. A few are actually doing it, so at least it's possible to get into the salary stratosphere here, even if it might mean doing something shady.

DYB Choisun hires teachers right out of college for 3 million won a month with housing. You will work 6 days a week for 6 hours a day, and only get Chuseok holiday. PM me for details.

Online poker 15+hours a week. I was playing more when it was really cold and I didn't want to go outside...cleared around 1.5k USD from that in January though I lost a few hundred thousand won playing cash games live at Walker Hill. I make around 12-15 bucks an hour and can play from my bed on a huge TV listening to my favorite music. Don't want to jeopardize my job/immigration status by working PT and I have nothing better to do since my GF went back to the states.

For a while I was making 3mill+ teaching but I had PT jobs and occasionally privates...I was making 2.5 a month base back then working at a shitty hagwon. I make standard hagwon pay now and have about 20 teaching hours.

I have some friends that make 7mill+ a month. One guy taught 70+ hours a week...another like 48hours. Both teach teach Saturdays and get no days off. Work Xmas/NYE/lunar new year etc. First guy gets free housing too, other guy pays 600 month.
