So wait... the wind is supposed to move the sections of the building? Each section probably weighs several dozen tons. You would need a freakin HUGE sail on each section for it to move even an inch. You'd be lucky if you could get the different sections to move at all, let alone the frantic spinnong motion of the video. And generating power? Forget about it. You might as well hook up a hydroelectric generator to a bathroom faucet.

The wind isn't supposed to LIFT them, just spin them. I bet it's possible with some good lubricant.

I think that will a mechanical headstart or "push", the individual floor untis would rotate about the axis quite easily. I think it's a brilliant concept. it's expensive though. They list the prices as 4 to 40 million (I assume) US dollars. They also say 3,000 a square foot. That's a 1300 square foot apartment. That's really really small. Of course for 40 million, you get 13,000 square feet, in which you could house a small tribe, a 7-eleven, and a mini-golf course.

Actually though, the plumbing wouldn't be too hard. Each floor remains fixed so you could do each floor normally. It also appears to remain on a fixed axis, so all you would need to do is design a branch section of the main pipe that can rotate.
Haha. Pfft...You guys kill me. The floors spin around a fixed axis. You put the bathrooms, elevator, stairs, and other services ON THE FIXED AXIS so they don't rotate.

You think all the plumbing is in the middle? What happens when you go in the bathroom and then the building cuts off your exit? I bet they do it my way.
Like I said, it's kind of hard to explain, but you wouldn't moving as in moving around joints, just ones that can spin. |

Think. Spinning is moving... The ENTIRE building isn't moving at the same time. You have multiple stories each moving at different speeds and perhaps different directions. So, each section of the pipe has to move independently.
The place where the pipes spin independently are called joints. Specifically, swivel joints.
Plumbing needs to be fixed. Simply put, you step off the fixed axis onto the moving floor. There is a ring of stationary floor, so you can walk around the center. Or, the moving floor has a buffer before you hit the dorrways and radial walls.
