Looks like eDonkey is pretty popular p2p client in Korea. I remember using edonkey back in the day when Napster kicked the bucket and I thought eDonkey sucked back them. Anyone tried using it lately?

I use Bittorrent for the majority of time, but I need to use a p2p client for random files like rare songs or software.

I used it a couple of years ago. It's still slow. Sometimes useful for finding rare files.

I attempted to access eDonkey a year ago and got a pop-up that said downloading movies and other copyrighted materials is against the law. That in addition to my students saying it is a virus infested site, keeps me far, far away.

Emule is great for Korean stuff. I tried some stuff like Hangul to check download speeds, (got 1.5MB/s on that) and Korean songs my wife wanted.

Be careful with emule. There is an Emule.com and an Emule.org. My antivirus program warns me about the .com but the .org seems OK. I personally don't trust either but maybe other posters can give you a more informed opinion.

emule.org and emule.com are both scams sites.
Those 2 asks for emails or to dial a 900 number.

The original is emule-project.net
emule is pretty good at finding those rare files that you can't find anywhere else. Especially if you connect to the kad network.

I run an old version...quite old now. Still rocks, but is smaller and IMO, cleaner.

Try to find an old version instead of the latest. It may be a bit less secure in one way, but more secure in others.
