I am leaving this peninsula and after all I've accumulated I don't have room to take my iMac home. I'll throw in my iPod nano, bluetooth headset, wireless keyboard and mouse and logitech usb headset for skype. Picture here --> http://www.chaselliott.com/imac.jpg

Asking $950

Specs:
2 GHz Intel Core Duo
2 GB Ram
CD/DVD Burner
250 Gig HD
APPLE CARE WARRANTY UNTIL JUNE 2009!

I also have the apple box it came in for easy shipping.

iPod is a small black 2 gigger with silicone case.

I used this computer for photography (www.chaselliott.com) and I have every software package imaginable. Let me know what you want on it after I do a clean install.

Ok, I do have the DVD's the computer came with.

I have since upgraded to Leopard, so that will be installed as well as the latest iLife packages. If you need any other software, I probably have it and could burn it to DVD on request.

Size: It's the 20" not the king size 24" that recently came out. I find the screen very spacious though.

PS If you don't like the size of the nano I'm throwing in, I also have a 30 gig iPod video I can throw in instead for an extra $50.

Thx for looking.

That imac is about $1200 brand new now on apple.com

I would consider something around $600

I think that's low balling especially with all the stuff and the upgrades he has made. I have an 20inch imac and it is awesome. I have the new one, but I always loved the old for it's aesthetics. Good luck on finding a buyer.

Not including the software I have (iWork etc.), the actual price for a new one on apple.com with the memory upgrade and no extras comes to:

Total:$1,363.95 including tax.

On the Apple Korean website it comes to ₩1,466,600 (1,417.031 USD).

You don't have to pay me tax... unless you really want to. (Laughing)

Wow, it's my first spliffing Smile

That iMac is 2 years old...Apple discontinued the Core Duo iMacs in September 2006. Why would anyone want to pay so close to retail for a Mac that's so old, especially when it's not even a Core 2 Duo?

Let's take a look at the facts.

Your system:
2 GHz Intel Core Duo
2 GB Ram (2 GB RAM is maximum allowed)
CD/DVD Burner
250 GB HD
APPLE CARE WARRANTY UNTIL JUNE 2009!
$950

A brand new iMac:
2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo
1 GB RAM (4 GB RAM is maximum allowed)
8x Superdrive
250 GB HD
Standard warranty until June 2009--the same time the Applecare runs out on the other machine.
$1,199-10% teacher's discount = $1080

$600-$700 is right on the money for the machine you've got.

Can anyone teaching in Korea get a teacher's discount though? I understood that you actually had to be registered within a school in N. America?

If you work at a Korean public school, you'd also be eligible for a teacher's discount or if you weren't, your co-teacher would be. I've purchased Mac gear this way in the past without incident from Apple Korea when I was a public teaching employee.

And I fail to see why people can't be more polite about pricing. If you're not interested in someone's merchandise then don't buy it. Only if they've misled or lied about something is it really necessary to thread crap on them.

If you order from Korea's Apple store, you can be a Korean teacher.

I'll offer 650 (only because I'd have to make the trip from Changwon). PM me if interested. I'd pick it up this weekend.

Slightly off-topic, but how did the Logitech keyboard and mouse work out for you? Thinking of purchasing a set myself. Is the keyboard as good as the one that originally came with the iMac?

I really liked the set. It's not bluetooth which has never been as consistent for me as radio products with their own usb stick. It has controls that are customizable for whatever you use most. itunes, volume mail etc. Mouse is great... 8 buttons. I like it better than the apple stuff it came with (minus the clickity sound that is a bit louder on the keyboard). And it matches!

I wish someone would come out with a monitor to match the finish and height of the imac so my dual screen setup didn't look so lame.

I guess you don't have enough posts for pms...

1) Do you still have the original mouse and keyboard and are they included?

2) Is the Leopard DVD included?

3) What extra software do you have original CDs/DVDs for?

4) What bluetooth headset is it? It looks like the samsung one.

5) Is the price negotiable?

No, I left them back in the states. I only brought my Logitech gear.

2) Is the Leopard DVD included?

I did purchase a legit copy of leopard, but I don't have the DVD to give. Sorry... I'd burn my image for you but it's too large for a single layer DVD. If you have an HD or iPod, i'll copy it for you in case you need it in the future.

3) What extra software do you have original CDs/DVDs for?

I have the CD's it came with. Other original software I will be keeping for my new Mac back in the states. If you want some of it loaded, or on disc let me know. No original discs will be given.

4) What bluetooth headset is it? It looks like the samsung one.

Logitech. Probably not an expensive one but I can't remember.

5) Is the price negotiable?

Yes. But for $600 don't bother. I am planning on paying for the extra piece of luggage now. I'm starting to lean that way after what people think it's worth here. Sorry.
