President Bush said Thursday he will lift key trade sanctions against North Korea and remove it from the U.S. terrorism blacklist, a remarkable turnaround in policy toward the communist regime he once branded as part of an "axis of evil."

Well, with any luck at all by Jan. 20, '09 we'll be back at the same place we were vis a vis North Korea that we were on Jan. 20, '01, with the only difference (after all that blustering at the beginning) being that NK has the bomb.

Is there anyone outside the Bush administration who thinks Iran is so stupid as not to have watched how NK was able to use the US policy of not negotiating with evil into having a bomb?

Is this a sign that things are swinging the other direction diplomatically with this administration? Maybe we won't have a sudden attack on Iran before November after all.

The best bit was John Bolton fuming about how it was a bad move.
