I've been renting my own officetel for one year already while getting a housing allowance.

I paid 5 million in key money and pay 500,000W per month.

The officetel changed ownership halfway through the year contract so I had to sign another contract that was binding for the unfinished year.

Now that the rental contract year is over the owner wants to raise the rent by 20,000W. (Initially it was 50,000W but he was talked down).

My employer just mentioned to me that there is some law where an owner is not allowed to raise the rent in under two years with the same tenant.

Can anyone verify or provide sources to show if this law is true?
