|
|
I have a question about the Self Medical Evaluation. It asks about serious disease or illness in the past five years... I haven't had anything major, but I had my tonsils removed and some minor soft palate surgery done in January. I know that this isn't really serious, but I'm wondering if I should mention it on the form. My fear is that if I say "no", I will get "caught" when I have my official medical exam done in Korea and they look down my throat. Should I mention it? |

Just write "no". How would they know the surgery was done recently anyway? They only look in your mouth to check the state of your teeth. |

say "no" and if they ask when they do the exam, just say you didn't think it was serious - and sounds like it wasn't. |

This sounds right. Or tell them you forgot... because you smoke pot everyday, and are borderline schizo.... |

I would just include it. Including it on the form is not going to see you get rejected - but it is in the category of things which they want you to disclose and if you don't there is always the potential for a problem down the track (maybe not a big one with this specific thing but I would lean towards discolosure in this situation. |

Like a Customs Declaration form, the answer to every question is always 'No'. |

Take this approach on a Customs Declaration form and get caught and you will be fined (or worse). The consequence to lying on the Medical Check form is potentially worse ... cancellation of visa and forced to pay for not only your airfare home AND under most contracts pay the school back for the airfare that brought you here .... Answering 'no" on the Medical form when that is not the true answer is a risk with potentially serious consequences ... Just make sure that you have considered that before you do it ... |

The entire form is a Catch-22. How can anyone not lie on it.
Do you have a mental illness?
Hmmm, well you're coming to South Korea, so you must be fuc.king insane to start with.

First, please be aware this info is 5 months old and K-immi changes weekly if not daily...
I askd immi if I should put down a lung disease-I mean put it on the form. They told me to put it on the form only if it was a threat to public health. It wasn`t so I didn`t. Of cours, it was discovered on the x-ray. Immi didn`t care as it wasn`t dngerous to others.
Some folks advocate telling anything and everything, but I`ve not heard of a single person being shippd home because of a discrepancy between the form info and the later physical exam. |
