Has anyone been there? I want to go with my mum in August, will I need to book the ferry in advance?
What's the accommodation like?
Is it worth an overnight trip?
Cheers. |

If the weather is good it is absolutely brilliant, but better for a two night stay then just an overnight. It is quite a unique place, very different from other locations in Korea. Accommodation runs the gamut from dirt cheap to pricey resorts. |

Take a bus or train to Pohang. You don't need to book in advance. If the weather is rough they will cancel the ferry so it's good to make a back up plan. There's also a chance they might cancel the ferry so you can't get off the island. Plan enough cash for a possible emergency. Tell your school you're going to Ulleongdo that way they understand that you are stranded there. When you don't show up Monday.
Pohang is pretty Surreal. Sandy beaches with a view of Blast furnaces.People lyeing on a sandy beach in front of industry a must see. |
