I'm leaving Korea in 2 weeks, but I'm coming back in the Fall. Does anyone know if I can leave my bank account open, since my alien card will obviously be expiring when I leave? The exchange rate is so horrible right now, I'd rather let the money sit here if possible.

Thanks!
Jenn

I did just that - I came back to find it all accessible - if you leave some money in you should be fine.

Yes, you can leave it open. Just leave 1000 won in it.

It will be there and ready for you when you return.

^ What about internet banking?

If the security certificate runs out every year and you need an ARC card to get a new one how does one keep their internet banking going?

Just go to the bank's website and there's an option to renew your security certificate.

I have heard both:
You get a new #
You get the same #

I will find out when I get my new ARC

I keep renewing my internet banking each year and don't have to bother about an ARC Card. Just renew online and launder that money.
