I am an American, and the Korean protesters are right, mad cow disease is widespread in the U.S., with thousands of people dying. I won't eat U.S. beef. |

Hey, Yanks!
Have you seen anyone die of vCJD?
Have you seen any cows with BSE - mad cow disease?
Have you seen beggars refuse to eat American beef because it is contaminated with BSE?
Do you think America is trying to commit genocide on the Korean people by sending them beef poisoned with BSE?
Have you seen Australian beef sold in the U.S. as a safe alternative to contaminated American beef?
And, are you infected with vCJD, and likely to die within two years?
If so, answer this poll.
If you are from another country, do you have a mad cow problem there?
And Koreans, there's an option for you, too, on this poll.
Thanks for playing.
No cheating, now!
If you are a vegetarian, too bad. I ran out of poll options. |

Yes. I remember back when I was a child, I would wait for the school bus at the end of my street. Littering the front yards of my neighbors were the barely-living bodies of twitching cows. Sometimes, the Slaughterhouse Sweeper Squads would show up with their portable reclamation units and toss the entire cow in. Out the back would come pre-packaged 1-5 pound packages of ground beef. Then the trucks would show up and the meat would be loaded and driven off. Mind you this all took less than five minutes. With so much practice, they had it down to an artform.
One day, when I was feeling particularly adventurous, I asked one of the men what they did with all of the diseased cow products. Taken aback by my forward question, he stopped a moment to collect his thoughts. Then, like a wave rushing forth from his bowels, he cackled maniacally. The other children at the corner with me looked down; if not from embarassment, than from fear. When he finally composed himself, he told us that all the meat collected from the dying street cows was sent to the major East and West coast cities, and then shipped overseas. |
