Been here a little over 10 years and everyday I see Koreans who cannot walk in a straight line. I can't count the number of times I have been cut off.
At least they don't walk in the large human chains, arms linked, completely cutting off the road, making it impossible to pass like they used to.
And, I really enjoyed when they had "cops" in all the subways during the World Cup so they would not stand in the passing lane on escalators, blocking people from walking up or down.
But, I would not correlate that with a lack of supermodels. I am sure there are plenty of other reasons. I am sure with the money that supermodels are paid, Koreans would walk straight. |

Kimora is only a quarter Korean and a quarter Japanese. It's also interesting to note that her mother completely identifies as only Japanese, even though half-Korean. |

Holy shit. A post by bovinerebel I actually agree with completely. I've been making this distinction between "home" and Korea for a while now and I stand behind it. Korea has a WAY higher percentage of 7-8's than the West does, but in more than two years in Korea I've only seen a couple girls that I'd put in the 9-10 category (you know, the sort of girl who makes your chest hurt because she's just THAT hot).
I think it all comes out in the wash. The West has the 9-10's, but Korea has a much better dating pool (going purely on looks, of course). |
Couldn't agree more. But I'll take the comparisons a step further... I like a hot piece of Korean ass as much as the next guy, and as a whole, I think the average Korean woman is more attractive than say, the average white American, British (the worst), French, Thai, Chinese female but not as attractive as say, the average Brazilian, Czech, Spanish, Italian, Swedish, Japanese beauty. |

I've never seen more tall, thin, beautiful women anywhere than in South Korea. There are a lot of tall thin women in the Czech Republic, but (in my eyes) there are fewer beautiful women there than in Korea, but they produce a lot of models.
I think the guy who says it's harder for Korean women to stand out is probably right. I think there are as many Perfect 10s in Korea as anywhere in the world, but the quantity of 7s, 8s, and 9s is so vast that the 10s just don't stand out as much as they do in some other countries. |

AGREED!
btw.. after Naomi Campbell in the 80's, there was HUGE trend for supermodels away from the old blonde Anglo Saxon "Kate Moss" stereotype.
Tyra Banks was huge for a while (popularity wise, not size wise, she was stunning back in the day)
then they started to get intereted in a real "African" look, very dark girls with very close cropped hair... there was one famous one, I forget the name.
then they moved on to Slavic girls, after Eastern Europe opened up, but what really changed, was the flavor for Latin... especially Brazilian.
that's why you have Giselle Bunchen and Adriana Lima being the two most famous ones today. |

Yeah, I think Kimora looks like she got stung by a bunch of bees b/c her face is all chunky, and she sort of looks like a tranny.
If you have ever watched Americas next top supermodel most of the girls are sort of ugly but they take pretty pictures but who wouldn't if they had their hair and makeup done and a guy that knows how to airbrush the flaws out of your picture.
Its the supermodels that are in Victoria Secret and Sports Illustrated that are gorgeous. Haute Coutore models are just wierd looking.

Well, if her mother's father was Japanese and mother was a Korean, her mother can identify her as a Japanese, In Asian countries childern always follow father's nationality. |
