You guys say culture shock in korea, let me tell you my own culture shock in America.
The biggest one was when I found out women's dirty underwears at yard sale, they try to sale used women's underwear like old bras/panties at yard sale, it was not even clean looking, it was dirty. That was disgusting.
When I arrive Atlanta Airport, a guy came out from plane met his wife/girlfriend who was waiting at the airport, they were kissing, but the sound of kissing, the sucking sound, that was something
Not that average fat, but FAT FAT men/women...
I've tried to imagine how they do have sex life as a wife and a husband, one woman even made joke that one side her breast weight about 80 pound
The tattooes,
It's not just one or two on legs/arms, entire legs/arms are covered with all kind strange looking tattooes, skull on neck, naked woman on arms...
It's not just earing, rings with nose, lip, forehead....
It's disgusting.
Why American women try so much show their breast ??
All their clothes showed their breast more or less, why ?
These are a few of many many culture shock I had in America.

Hahah that's really funny. Once, an old lady from my church gave me used underwear as a present. Ewwwwww. I think she was almost blind so maybe she didn't see that stains. hahha |

I remember shopping at a store at a mall in Louisiana and they let these two chicks try on underwear. I've never been back to that store since. |

On a scale from 1-100, I'd put culture shock in Seoul at about a 16. Outside of Seoul, it's probably different. |

hahaha.....I thought exactly the same thing when I read that. I couldn't imagine seeing that anywhere in the northeast, even in the poorest or most rural places. |

Just because they were on sale, doesn't mean you had to buy them Miss Seoul. Are you wearing them right now? |

Careful, any mention of dirty underwear and we'll have the Mary Whitehouse moralists down our throat (in the cleanest possible way) and this thread will become extinct much like the barberpole thread. |

You can get plenty of second hand bras and panties in the second hand clothing area, downtown Daegu.
I've never checked for any skid marks in them, though. MIss Seoul is welcome to do that. |

Gross.
I don't this this is actually an example of "culture shock." I hardly doubt that selling dirty underwear is part of American culture. Gross, yes. Inappropriate, yes. "Culture", no.
Coming to Korea, these three were the big ones for me:
- Children at a bar past 12am with their parents there drinking.
- The pissing and puking all over the streets.
- Drunks passed out absolutely anywhere, but no one does anything about them. |

Can't they get big money for those in Japan?
Anyway, these are shocking cultural things, not culture shock. |

You could say the same about Korean women.
Why Korean women try so much show their legs?
All their clothes showed their legs more or less, why?
In America, you have low-cut tops. In Korea, you have insanely short skirts. |
