Not so here. I've met a handful of Korean girls over here recently and most are dating outside the race. I believe that many K-girls who study in the West do so (though obviously not entirely) due to a caucasian fetish. The same charge is made of white guys with yellow fever teaching in Asia. |
I think in any culture, women quickly learn who are the alpha males. Add in:
Korean female university student abroad: Gets lots of attention from local males, local females compliment her a lot on her beautiful skin, her weight, her nice hair, her style. She's treated as smart, beautiful, and capable. Contrast this with always hearing from her family she's lazy, stupid, too fat.
Korean male university student: Goes from being the alpha male in his culture (usually first born, from a family with some money and status) to being largely perceived as a skinny pocket protector nerd. No one in the west recognizes his symbols of status like his Bean Pole outfit. He's unsure of his language ability, he feels the loss of status immensely. And then his Korean sisters are carrying on like whores! Oh my. It's far too much to take.
I think a Korean woman feels liberated in the west and a Korean male feels he's been knocked down several rungs in social status and grows frustrated at his loss. |
Hmm...this almost (but not quite) reminds me of what happens when white people go over to korea but in reverse:
white male in korea: revered because he is white. he could be the skinniest, wimpiest, most annoying guy in his own country but here he comes close to reaching star status due to his skin and foreignness.
white female in korea: fairly average where she comes from but is questioned because there must be something wrong with her since she isn't married, regarded as overweight because she isn't anorexic and overall tiny like korean women, and passed over by whatever decent "normal" foreign guys that are around in favor of korean girls.
this is all what i gather from the impression this board gives by the way....when i was there (not as a teacher), i didn't see any of this happening. but after reading many many posts and replies, this is the impression one comes off with  |

Too much of this. The problem with western women is not that they aren't arorexic , trust me. That really does understate the problem. They're plain fat. I have nothing against anyone being fat , but let's not live in denial.
Oh the other hand , I can almost understand dating Korean girls seeing as you live in Korea as some form of last resort. But to actually seek them put where you have other viable options? Insanity ! |

I suppose I've got the fever!  It's the legs and hair that do it. Besides, I read this today. 75% of Britons are overweight including 22% who are obese. If one finds overweightness a turn-off, that leaves 1 in 4 girls (and even less than that for the ones that are pretty)....so Asian girl hunting at nearby universities may not be that mad after all! |

No, just desperate. I can imagine you taking 2 hours trying to "primp up" and pushing your chest out to look tough and desirable at your local campus. Then walking up to random women with an "Annyong haseyo! Huh huh yeah I lived in Korea" |

That is the case at my university (are in packs). There are about as many Asians as there are white people here, but they generally stick to people of their own ethnicity (koreans hang with koreans, taiwanese with their peeps, etc). |

Don't get me wrong. I fully understand wanting asian girls. I'd just suggest Koreans would be last on that list. They're shallow princesses for the most part. Also for me an asian girl loses almost all her competitive edge when she's born in the west. They still grow up to be narcicistic idiots with no souls like other western girls. |

So Korean women are shallow princesses and western women are narcissistic idiots with no souls? You must have a really small pool of women to date from.
And does the other poster think that Koreans don't get fat in the west?
(Off topic, but I love how some people say that genetics isn't a factor when it comes to being overweight, then turn around and say that Koreans are naturally thin.) |

Well as a human being if you are only willing to date women with souls who aren't narcicistic , you already are dating from a tiny pool. Its so small it's practically hypothetical. But I'd rather be alone and miserable on my own etrms than have some guided assistance into misery.

Genetics is a factor , but it's not an excuse. There is no good reason that most western women are in the state they are in , other than they are lazy. |
