There's a help centre for migrant workers near me, and I've been supporting them financially and also joining their Korean language classes. It's called CLC Migrant Workers' Center. They do really important work, helping workers adapt to Korean society, find supportive communities, sort out problems with health insurance and employer troubles. They even arrange for migrant workers to do volunteer work with people with mental disabilities.
They're selling tickets as a fundraiser, so 10,000 won gets you in, entered in a draw, and presumably some beer from an Asian country (other than Korea.) I was giving away 2 tickets for free but they've already been snapped up.
The place is called Ju Dong A Ri and it's in the middle of the block behind the post office. You can get there on the 66, 10, or the 6000 from Suwon/Singal, or on the 5001 from Gangnam.

No idea. Whenever I'm at the centre, the women are usually Thai, Chinese, Indonesian or Vietnamese. I know there are Uzbeki girls in the area, and Mongolians too, but I don't know any single ones. |
