So I'm in Burger King getting a burger and I see the following brochure at the front counter:

Right at the top of the brochure it states that Burger King beef is safe and that it comes only from New Zealand and Australia. The implication? That it would not be safe if it came from somewhere else. Somewhere such as....oh, I know know....AMERICA! BURGER KING'S OWN COUNTRY!

To me, this is like wiping your ass with the declaration of independence and calling Abraham Lincoln a fairy! I would've expected a little more loyalty out of a faceless multinational corporation!

Now when I think back about wearing one of those paper crowns on my 6th birthday party, it will be with no more fondness than thinking back about my uncle molesting me later that day. Thanks, Burger King!

I have always thought the Aussie beef slogan, Clean and Safe, while true, insinuates that other beef is not. Coincidentally, the Aussies didn't start their Clean and Safe campaign until the BSE positive cow was discovered in America.

I say we print up thousands of "100% US Beef" stickers and discretely place them on Burger King and McDonalds cash registers arcoss the land. Of course, we should dress up as the Unabomber first.

McDonald's in Korea had the same kind of sign during the scare back in 2003.

Costco in Korea also has a similar sign on display in the food court. Saw it yesterday.

Burger King sold out a long time ago. The company was bought and sold several times over by American and foreign companies. Only since 2003 has it again been American-based.

Burger King is a giant conglomerate with loyalty only to money. Nobody on their board or the majority of American shareholders who own FIRST FOOD SERVICES LLC for that matter give a damn about national loyalty. Welcome to the wonders of international business. It�s up to you as an individual to choose to buy or not to buy. I�m not sure but each store is franchised. Though they have to follow corporate rules and standards, I�m sure there is regional influence as to how the product can be marketed. Hey, do what the Koreans did protest. It might violate your visa but I�m sure a letter writing campaign and a crafty boycott might work. Maybe write the American Beef Council. Show them your picture. They may have some pull. If it bother you that much go for it.

I know the OP is just mimicking a troll (though he doesn't do it as well as Qinella). But he does bring up an interesting question . . . you'd think American companies would be leading the way in using American beef. On the one hand American beef has proven incredibly popular among consumers---the ones who actually spend money rather than walk around with candles attacking cops. But on the other hand, of course advertising American beef would be pretty suicidal at a time like this.

That said, Burger King is still awesome.

McDonalds is worse. BK was originally a British company (though it's corporate headquarters are now in Miami, Florida).

McDonalds does the same thing only it's more blatant (it's right on the plastic tray liners) and McDonald's was founded in San Bernardino, California and has ALWAYS been an American company. If you're looking for someone to walk the plank on this one, I say send the clown out first closely followed by the king. Both are guilty as all get out.
