Yeah, because certain nationalities exhibit the trait of "trying to take advantage of drunken chicks" exclusively, right? Rolling Eyes

Nobody would take advantage of you, because they would feel bad for raping a retard.

Are you a chick? If the answer is no, then how would you know? Have you ever been in that situation before.

And to all the chicks out there who read this I'm totally serious about this.

Thanks for calling me a retard because I have an opinion. You are undoubtedly one of those American guys who turns into a rapist as soon as you see a drunk woman. Go *beep* yourself.

1) Don't purchase drugs from a taxi driver.

2) Purchase your drugs from a guy on the beach.

3) If you're lost, just keep walking and pretend like you know where you're going.

3) When you exchange your money, go to a safe place to organize it.

4) Prepare yourself whenever flying into a new city: i.e. find out where to get a taxi/bus, how muc the fair should be, and preferably where you will be staying on your first night.

This is good advice.

traveling alone -

when riding buses or trains, look the drivers and attendants in the eye and smile, catch their attention - if something happens or someone bothers you, they are much more likely to assist you -

if you are suspicious of a taxi driver who's taking you back to your hotel, don't get out in front of the hotel, tell them to drop you off somewhere nearby

when getting in a taxi MAKE SURE THEY TURN ON THE METER; if not, make sure you have negotiated a price and trust the fact they might change their mind later.

always be careful about making chit chat in a cab - drivers do this to divert your attention away from the fact maybe they are going a different route.

don't let people rush you away from counters when you've paid for something - anything - take your time, put your money away properly, close your bag, pick up your purchases, etc.

pay phones - watch your back - !!

happy traveling -

I know because I know how to properly evaluate the actions of human beings, since human beings have individual personalities. Therefore, an entire group of men from one nation can not be said to have make the same choices.

And that's why you're a moron.

You're welcome, you needed it. You are a retard because your opinion is wrong and irrational, not because it's valid. I've never had sex with a drunk woman before, so there goes your "rational" use of generalization to a whole group of 150 million men. News flash: 150 million American men do not have the same personalities, you infantile, drooling, Down's Syndrome handicapped baby. They make individual choices based on individual characteristics in their personalities. Being American or a Brit is an inessential attribute when evaluating whether someone will likely rape you.

Learn how to evaluate people like an adult, based on their indvidual personality. Do you go up to black guys and say "You're more likely to rape me because you're black" too? Truth is, some black guys will rape you, some won't. That depends on their individual choices, not where they were born or the colour of their skin. Those are inessential attributes in evaluating whether someone will make the personal choice to rape you. Would you seriously be weary of an American man dressed in a suit and is clean cut, simply because you find out he is American?

You need to be a grown up and learn how to properly evaluate people based on individual characteristics. Your use of irrational generalizations on inessential attributes is about equal to any racists' mentality.

Take a photocopy of everything (passport, airline tickets, visa stamps etc) one copy in your bag, one copy with the valuables you always have with you.

I scan these docs and email them to myself, and to a family member, just in case. luggage can get lost, documents can get wet etc.

as for Faunaki's advice, I'd take it a step further, and say just don't get stupid drunk in foreign countries, period. A comfortable buzz is one thing, but getting drunk with people you don't know is always going to be risky, and hangovers cut into sightseeing/ vegging on the beach/ whatever else time anyway.

This one is the big one for me:

Let someone know your itinerary. My mother still hasn't quite gotten over thinking I died in the 2004 tsunami. She knew I was in Sri Lanka, but didn't know I was inland, and I didn't know that anything had happened for a day or two afterwards.

Yes I can understand why, it's because you just can't learn when to shut up.

And another tip for travellers - get one of those waterproof passport holders that can be worn while swimming. That way one person doesn't have to sit on the beach watching stuff while the other goes for a swim.

Rest assured my dear I would take advantage of you whilst drunk too. Unless you were fat, which let's face it seeing as you're a white woman in Korea you probably are. Fatty.

Don't fool yourself, as a man I know you'll put your thing in anything, and by anything I mean ANYTHING..

Heh heh, is that what you said to the British guys in a vain attempt to get them to double team you?

Another travel tip: Never travel to Goa during the off time, it's not worth it.

If there are women and children about, the place is pretty safe.

If there are women about but no children, the place is probably okay.

If there are only guys about, watch your back.

At least this is what I learned in Central America. These are just my general guidelines. Best to keep your eyes and ears open at all times.

Stay where theres plenty of people and don't carry a lot of cash, even in a money belt. Money belts are good for twarting pickpockets and keeping important items stashed away. BUT if you get mugged/robbed I would guess your attacker would know about money belts and try to seperate you from it. Stay safe.

Errr, so someone can steal it. Happened to my buddy, he got stuck in the Phil for a week. And of course if you're staying in a guest house in places like Cambodia, Laos the idea of a hotel safe is funny.
