|
|
For some reason my wireless keyboard is acting strangely--the left Shift button is acting like the Backspace. the right Shift is making this mark | . Enter is causes the web browser to go to the previous page! The Enter button on the Num Pad is fine though.
Any ideas what's happening here? |

Maybe the batteries are low. I'd change them out to new ones and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't work, disconnect from your computer and reconnect and see if the os searches and finds the keyboard. Also, do a search for any updates for the keyboard software and install. |

Ok I have tried that and nothing. I also plugged in another keyboard to make sure it wasn't the computer, since I thought the regional settings may have something to do with it. Everything was set to the normal settings though. I'm using fresh batteries but no effect. This thing is driving me crazy!!! Did I mistakenly hit a key that has locked the keyboard to some weird setting? |

Is there a reset button on the bottom of the keyboard/ Press it. You might have to use a pin to get to it. |

This keeps getting weirder. I tried the reset button and even did a system restore but the same ol same ol. I just discovered that pressing Scroll Lock opens up Outlook 2007, if that helps. |

check and make sure you dont have NumLock on by mistake, happened to me a few weeks ago and it racked my brain for ages, especially cos i couldnt search on the net - typing didnt work obviously.
id say its most likely the problem. |

have you spilt any water or other liquids on it lately??
I once blew a keyboard over a few drops of water - it's death to the inside if it hits the right place - took mine about a week to feel the effects but that was that, had to replace it.
if other suggestions don't work, see of you can take the cover off, dust carefully with canned air and cotton swabs, if that doesn't work you might have to replace it. |
