|
|
I was told by my school that I have to leave Korean by the date on my ARC card. It happens to be a Saturday and the day after my last day of teaching. I was hoping just to be able to stay for the rest of the weekend. Does anyone know if this is going to create a problem for me if I leave later or is there a few days leeway? |

You have 3 choices:
1) leave, no later than midnight, on the last date indicated on your ARC.
2) Get an extension. This will require a copy of your ticket, your ARC and your passport. It takes 15 minutes over the counter at the immigration office
or
it can be done on-line ( http://www.g4f.go.kr ) but you need to be able to fax copies of everything to immigration AND they only do it M-F during business hours.
3) overstay your visa, get delayed at the airport, pulled aside and questioned, pay a fine of 100k won, and have a black mark placed in your file.
#2 would probably be the easiest for you, especially if you have some time during the day to pop into the local immigration office.

By ticket are you refering to a flight ticket? If I have these things it won't be a problem for me to get an extension? |

flight or ferry... and it will be no problem.
They will extend until the date on the ticket (up to 30 days).
It is free, no hassle, in and out (15 minutes + the wait time to get to the counter). |
