Can you imagine how lonely and p*ssy-whipped the guy must be to write such garbage? It's full of weakness, excuses, whining...

Stevie-boy, I'll summarize what happened to you in a few words: you're a stupid boy who got owned by a greedy Filipina because you were weak.

You see, no need to write 10 pages about it!

I think you are all being a bit hard on brother Schertzer in his hour of need. His heart has been stamped on by some pinay bint (NB: Not ALL Pinays are the same - sensitve husbands of the mentioned) just because he wanted to know where his hard earned 20,000 went on.

He has been harsh with a cross section of these forums for the past two years but I think it is the christian thing to do to embrace Steve and his broken heart and help him come to the realisation that love will find its way around again and not to be such a mug next time - though as I said affairs of the heart are lessons you never ever learn from - ask Paul McCartney, Richard Burton, The Kennedy's etc

So lets give brother Schertzer a fair go for pouring his heart out... who is with me?

Embarassed This is as close to a puking icon as there is on here.

Who cares about his whiny little rant?

Now I have converted the amount Schertzer went apeshit on his missus
for -

20000 pesos = 200 quid = 350000 won Rolling Eyes

Come on Brother Schertzer = you could have seen the bigger picture
and wired her another 10000 pesos to keep her gob shut while you saw to your dying mum!

On this occasion you could have had your cake AND ate it too!

Carry on!

Maybe it's just me, but who the hell plans a future with a woman who you've only known for four months? Four months??? Perhaps I'm the one who's old-fashioned, but at four months, you should still be learning the little things about your girlfriend/boyfriend - not making such detailed plans about the future.

And I'm sorry about your mom and all, but you don't open up such baggage to a person that you've known for such a short period. Of course, you tell her about your concern, but for her to travel around the world and to be with your friends and family in your time of need is way too much for being in the early stages of a relationship.

If this is real, it's pathetic.

Well, why wouldn't it be real, then? After all, Schertzer is quite pathetic. Has been for years.

WARNING WARNING: Another puke alert.

I know that showing compassion as vitriol is today's generation (x?) way of putting things, and... can't say that I opened the link to actually see what all the commotion is about, but judging by the reaction of the majority of posters here, I may have found a niche... err, Steve is the forum's resident bible thumper?

Good God, now I know what to scroll past, this has been going on for YEARS?

Quote:
How disappointing. It kind of devalues all those other golden nuggets of sagacity that have been pelting us from on high this last couple of years. It seems they weren't really golden raindrops of wisdom after all, but in fact just frozen babypiss.

You silvertongue devil blurga.

Yup, every board's got one and I can see that some people here won't suffer fools either. The thing to remember is that many of them have a firm faith in Evangelism. The Bible tells them to go forth and spread the word, so this they do. And this is the lazy man's way of testifying for the Lord. Welcome the Golden Age of Compooters.

Sometimes these netheads are just plain fiction writers trying out their plot. Confession plays a part in it too--full disclosure for the good of the soul, yadda yadda.

Faith comes in all shapes and sizes, so it's best to leave them to it if you deem them weak. Sometimes the simplest faith is all it takes to maintain their daily lives with some resemblence of the dignity all humans deserve. Please do not discount spirituality by scorning all religion.

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now with this one passing thought for you readers that made it this far: Watch out for Moonies (yes, I'm a child of the 70's). Besides the problematic racism, that's my other reservation about Korea--he's as big a charlatan as Kim Jong Il. But man he's made alot of money and he's basically a US problem now.

In case you do check out Buddhism though, here's a wee meditation I hope you would enjoy:
Buddhist Prayer

I never took SS to be a bible-thumper. I always just considered him to be a self-important twit. Maybe I was wrong (about the bible-thumping part).

He's never been a Bible thumper on this site. Rather he's bemoaned how all the foreign English teachers in Korea are. All except him, of course.

I will never understand the obsession all of you seem to have for this guy (Steve Schertzer). Can someone please tell me what the attraction is that you all have in common? Is it philosophical or just sexual?

I rip on ol' steve a bit because he writes articles telling virtually everybody in this whole industry that they are really, really bad teachers, and does it in a pompous and sanctimonious way. He does make the occasional good point but finding them is like looking for gold fillings in ajashi vomit. Sure, there are some, but why bother?

Even so, I wouldn't even bash him at all if he didn't seem to enjoy it so much. I mean, he ALWAYS gets this reaction. Obviously it fuels him somehow.

Hey, when you're young and have hormones, enjoy but stay safe. The philosophy will come when you never stop learning.
