Well I broke down and read it since I stuck my foot in it assuming it was a religious rant. Much more introspective than preachy, imo.

Sounds like Mila blew it, unless she had him pegged more along the lines of what's being said here. Then the first excuse to boogie while shrewishly blaming it on his absence came along to wring some cash out of the whole affair. Some women are capable of that, I suppose.

So Steve, you post, we speculate... on what might have been. The pratfalls of putting your life online.

The man is a self-rightious pillock. That's about as deep as it goes.

And he gets hoodwinked by Filipina bar girls, aged 49. Rolling Eyes

I've dated younger men... not someone 20 years younger... just a few years younger. My dad has dated women 20+ years younger for the last 30 years. Based on my own observations, if you are dating someone who is a substantial number of years younger than you who has financial difficulties, assume that financial need is most likely part of the attraction.

My experience is that in the Filipino culture this is especially true. Many women get married, and then demand that financial support be sent to their families.

Expecting someone who is 20 years younger to find you attractive just for your looks and personality is not realistic. If you give money to a younger woman that you want to keep in your life, forget the money as soon as it is given. If you want to keep the relationship going, you will likely be pulling out your wallet for as long as the relationship exists.

Steve-The perfect teacher (in his eyes only).
Steve-The man who bemoans all foreign teachers here as having ulterior motives.
Steve-A middle-aged man who lives in Asia because he's looking for a girl half his age.
Steve-Not so perfect, not a man.

Now I'm just straight off pissed after reading that.

Steve, these teachers you are putting down happen to be among America's and Britian's finest minds. Most of them are recent college grads, who, I would remind you, have just sat thru seventeen years of education (or more). If they didn't learn how to impart knowledge from that, they wouldn't have made it this far.

Sure it can be confusing thrust into the whole foreign experience, but they are there quite willingly (mostly for the total experience, I would presume) and btw, what year did you get your student debt paid?

Shocked Shocked Shocked

Oh my god!! I had a few beers with that guy! He lives in Yeong-do in Busan. I was just excited to meet another foreigner in the area and was happy to go out.

To be honest, he was alright for the night, but his friend was a complete freak. All he (the friend) did was talk about having restraining orders against him and was homeless for awhile. Steve thought he was the bee's knees.

Edit: After reading his Korean Times post against English teachers and McDonald's, I remembered where I met him. It was him entering a Lotteria, I guess it's OK for Koreans to clog their own peoples arteries, eh Steve? (In reference to the KT article)

So with all the MickyD's popping up, what are they using for beef these days? Yak, water buffalo, kangaroo, tetrasaurus?

Yes. that about hits the nail on the head. He may think he"owns the classroom", but he doesn't own much common sense. He's a tool who got what he deserves.

Sorry, I was reacting to Steve's rant in the KT's about McD's (and American businesses) ruining the Korean culture.

Quote:
It's about more money in the pockets of McDonald's U.S.A. Nutrition and a healthier lifestyle be damned! With McDonalds and other American fast-food outlets on just about every street corner, the American fast-food industry is now making the nutritional choices for Koreans.

Got me to wondering ...with the U.S. beef protests and all? Just what exactly is in that hamburglar?

Finally got a chance to sit down and read this. Ah, printed it off at work, grabbed a coffee after work and sat in the sun and read this sad abortion.

Okay, so 49 year old dude is banging a 20something filipina bar girl but believes her story "no no I'm just a waitress". For a guy from montreal, you'd think he'd be a bit more savvy. Isn't that what all the Quebec strippers tell their moms back on the farm? "No no mom I am a waitress in Toronto."

Anyway, she's supposedly a good catholic girl but he doesn't notice porking an old white guy she could be calling "daddy" is not exactly what good catholic girls do.

So, he's looking forward to a whole summer of shagging a little brown girl nearly 2 decades his junior six ways to sunday on a beach and in her childhood bedroom with dad next door when his mom, who is already not very healthy and makes you wonder why he's in Korea in the first place, suddenly takes a turn for the worse. He then suggests to his lil shag bunny that she gives up her family duties and comes to montreal to help him bathe his mother and shag him in montreal. When she says no (she has her own family members she needs to bathe), he turns into the biggest pųssy in all of Asia, sends her nasty email (copies his own family on his little dispute so they can see what a big man he is, trying to convince a 29 year old filipina that the great white man is taking the moral high ground), and then writes a whiny biatchy door stopper of a story and decides ESL teachers on Dave's need to understand his suffering and might learn something other than the biggest pųssy in all of Asia actually lives right next door to them.

Jesus rogering a leather biker!

He has one little speed bump with his filipina hump (who doesn't have little tiffs with their S/O about how/where to spend the summer?) and not only is it the end of his world but suddenly it has become a big moral lesson and has changed his view of family. Which I will wager $50 is an attitude that's going to last 2 weeks before he goes back to chasing little brown SE asian women again. (K girls not giving you a second?)

And this is the guy that claims we're here to colonize Koreans? Yet he's sending money to poor SE women and then demanding of them certain behavior?

Geez.

OK...So I got to the point in your post where you say, "Ah, printed it off at work." That is where I stopped. Can I ask again why you and others are so obsessed with this man? You could find nothing better to read or do with your time? His writing is of such importance to you that you find the need to print it and sit down to read it? Is this a cult of something you all belong to? Can't any of you find anything more interesting to do with your time when in Korea?
