Okay, I am taking Demo's advice. So, I am buying a new monitor. I want to keep it around the 230 range. So, buy me one and tell me why! (not really buy me one, but tell me which one I should and why).

YOu should spend more and buy a 24in.

22in is yesterday.

ANother 100k or so will get you a nice 24in monitor.

Imagine really having 1080p capabilities on your computer screen.

Honestly though, I don't want to spend another 100. I'd rather stick with a 22in.

Any ideas?

Meh, 22 is a very nice size for computing. I don't think the 24 is a very good deal at this point unless you're wanting to watch a bunch of movies from your couch or something. It's like 50% more cost for 18% more real estate.

And I'm not sure what you're talking about resolution-wise. My laptop does better than 1080p. Plenty of 22 inch LCDs run 1920x1200, which is just over 1080p. And assuming this is going to be his only monitor he definitely doesn't want to be running something crazy like 2560x1600 - he'll only be able to play games that are several years old.

Yes you are right, I was mixing up the information I had researched on XBOX360 compatible screens - did 360's max resolution

1680x1050 most likely

I hear the AL2216WBD is pretty good at that price range. The high end samsung one is supposed to be the cream of the crop for 22 inchers, but it's going to be well out of your price range.

1680x1050, you are correct. it has 5ms response time. Most of them anyways. with a 1000:1 ratio. That isn't too bad, I guess.

I think about 22 feet less would be more appropriate.
