It looks like I'm about to start a job search within the next month. I have my original university diploma with me, but I don't want to have to turn it over to any potential employers if I can avoid it.
How can I get a copy notarized here that Immigration will accept?
Should I go to Immigration? My embassy? Any old lawyer? |

I don't know where it can be notarized but you could ask some (potential or not ) employer, where the office is, perhaps? I did let my current employer take mine and do that. I got it back, but I understand your nervousness (?) about handing it over. |

Follow up to a like message I posted and relevant here is that I no longer had more notarized copies along with the stamp from the Consul, but it turns out that you don't need it (assuming you have your true original). I went with the person from my new school to immigration and took my original diploma - he just looked at it and that was all he had to do -- he made a copy and signed that he verified it was a real copy of a real original ... I went along so that I was always in posession of the original document (my property).
Granted, it might be different for you but this was in Omokgyo .... |
