Unfortunately a certain segment of SK society will purely blame the US. Just like they do for Gwangju. |

It's too bad Kim Il-Sung invaded the South and started the whole mess. It is too bad the US didn't do more during the precipitous retreat to save lives, and it's nice that when the war had turned around later in the year that the British were able to intervene and save some. |

My opinion of Korea has just gone up several notches:

Well, one notch.
Has anyone in Korea ever heard of this group?
When everyone in Korea has heard of it, then I will upgrade my opinion.
Oh, and please note that the Associated Press is an American organization. |

My favorite one is where the Korean government signed away the rights of sex slaves to sue japan in return for no interest development loans. They never bothered to tell the sex slaves seeking money in the Japanese court system, however.
To wit, Korean industry benefited from this political convenience. I think they should share the wealth. (Well, technically they do by providing high paying jobs. However, it would be nice if they recognize the relation between their success and the Korean government's signing away of the rights of Koreans to sue Japan.) |

My wife's grandfather was killed during that massacre.
He wasn't a communist, he was just walking by a place where some communists where getting together to debate the nuances of dialectical materialism and someone saw him and reported him.
Not sure how true that part is, but he was killed all the same.
I guess it was almost kinda like an inquisition.
Don't like your neighbor, phone Commie Busters and take a bit of out Marxism... |
