Just been offered a job in Nigeria to teach a family. So goodbye Korea, hello Nigeria.

First email:

Quote:
Dear Teacher,

I am Frederek Sigvard from stockholm, Sweden and work as an Engineer at Chevron Oil Lagos, Nigeria. My wife and Kids recently joined me in Nigeria; she is Swedish and can't speak English. I am seriously seeking for the services of an English Teacher.

I have reviewed you resume online and would like to know if you would be able to come and teach my wife and four kids Ludvig, Helmer, Synnove and Arvid English most importantly is my wife; She would be attending an interview at a bank here in Nigeria soon. I want to know if you can come by July 2008 to teach my family English.

I am willing to offer you US$6,500 per month with health insurance and return ticket. I have a twin duplex which I and my family occupy one of them at the moment, and if you accept this offer, you would be staying in the second Duplex. I will pay for your airfare cost if you accept the offer.

Regards
Fred ( +234 807 287 3226 )

Hello Frederek,

Thank you for your email. I want to offer my services to teach English for your family.

I actually am looking for work right now. When would I start? When would you give me a job? Wow some things happen at the right time. I believe in fate, how about you?

Lets sort out the application.

Your (potential) English Teacher

I will provide updates to this job offer and baiting this scam artist. I have some decent ideas about what to do but I will wait till the next reply. For those that did not read the thread title, the email is a form of scam. The guy will try to get documents, money and extortion your possesions from you. What ever you do, never provide any personal information.

I am going to try and get a work contract from this guy then make some really interesting policies added to it:

a. Get a daily BJ from the wife.
b. Work 1 hour a day to perform Buddhist rituals.
c. Exchange the car for a Porsche.
d. Have a pension fund added.

This is going to get real funny.

Got a reply. Here it is:

Quote:
Hello

Thank you for your interest in my family, since they know nothing about the language the duration will probably be for 12 months so that they will know every bit of it. I will arrange with a travel agency here in Lagos to apply for a visa for you and I will take the charges.

Just give me some time let me have a chat with my wife I will get back to you.

Thanks

Fred.(+234 807 287 3226)

Looks like he doesn't know my name yet. Hahahaha. I shall follow up shortly.

My reply to the scammer:

Quote:
Hello there,

Say hello to the wife and your kids from me. I am so looking forward to teaching your family in Africa. I have never been there before so am a little apprehensive naturally. So could you show me a family photo and some local pictures of Nigeria please?

Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

Regards,

One thing I have noticed is a change of email addresses:

First email address - [email protected]
Second email address - [email protected]

Interesting.

I also replied to him:

Hello Fred,

I am very interested in your sca...I mean generous position. Please send me the ticket and I will be on my way within days. I am unemployed now and looking for a good job.

I am just worried about one thing. Your offer seems a little too good to be true. At first I trusted your story but now I am wondering if you are one of those cheeky buggers from Nigeria or some other country.

Then again, Nigeria is such a shithole, $6,500 is not nearly enough to live in such a cesspool. Forget it.

-Me

The really shocking part is, he sent me the same reply, as if I were interested.

You'd think after all these years of scamming, these Nigerians would actually get good at it.

The latest reply from the scammer. The guy also attached a photo (same photo from another poster) of his family which was nice and some document that I pasted below the reply. I shall try to get more changes to the attached letter. I would like a goat or some sports cars. What do you think I should ask for.

Scam or not, the statement in bold sounds like a tall order.
