I noticed that many more people are having drinking parties tonight by this river I live near as I stayed home the weekend. No, I'm not complaining, but just wondering why they're having drinking parties on Sunday more so than on Friday and Saturday. There is a large parking lot in front of my place for river access where groups can cook noodles on camp stoves and drink which is nice, except for all the trash they leave behind. The police have a check point set up at the only way in and out of the river access parking lot to check for drunk driving.

Why would lots of people drink on a Sunday night as most everyone has to get up early for work? I know I'm not going to drink on a week night as it makes work too difficult.

Sunday is a big day with the family here as many still work on Saturday. Maybe they are out with family and friends getting plastered.

That's so funny. I don't know how they do so much drinking and still work 6 to 7 days a week as I got drunk on Friday night and still felt a bit hungover and malaise today, but feeling much better and more normal tonight. I noticed so many people working 7 days a week around here and my PS works 6 days a week. (not me) I couldn't have worked yesterday after getting drunk on cheap Gin Friday night as it was crap quality that gave me one of the most crap hangovers as Korean alcohol usually does. Why is there no selection including high quality drinks available in the biggest alcohol drinking country on Earth? I need high quality drink to make drinking worthwhile, but still won't do it anymore on week nights. You have to be true alcoholic to enjoy the crap cheap quality alcohol; not a recreational casual drinker like me.

One time last year here, I drank 2 bottles of Soju and had most horrid day of my life the next day at work, but I did make it on time. I vowed to never do that one again.

I understand half of Asian people carry a gene that causes more extreme hangovers where their bodies react more negatively to alcohol, but they drink anyhow. Despite this, they can drink and work 6 or 7 days a week and have no individual self as it's a group thing; not individual. How?

I wish I could pull it off as having a good drink is fun and gives you that euphoric sense of well being we all seek in life. It'll kill you if you burn the candle at both ends. In my 20's while in the military, we drank any night of the week, but not every night and we did have German beer due to being Deutschland which is the purist quality money can buy. Drinking or not, my timing is way off come Sunday night where I stay up too late and am too tired come Monday, but lots of people do this anyhow.

I was going to start a post about just this subject!

It seems to me the majority of K-tennants in my building go out and get shit-faced on Sunday night (I do it Fri. & Sat.) Wink . I'm awakened every half hour from Midnight to 0400 by drunken idiots coming home, talking/arguing/fighting loudly in the hall ways and slamming their metal doors. Rolling Eyes

All this drinking does have a visible physical effect upon their bodies.

How many of you want to have the rubbery sickly skin color at the age of 40 some that most Korean men have?

I do not commonly see Westerners with the same degree of alcohol skin sickness that I do with Korean men.

yeah I noticed the Sunday thing too, I reminded me of Italy, the way they all go out for the promenade... definitely a big social thing.

Why?

Because they're alcoholics. Does that answer your question?

I have to say Sunday drinking is definitely popular in Britain. But then again we are all alcoholics.

I think though its cos the weather is bad, not good. It really is rare to have a sunny Sunday in England so there aren't too many options beyond the drinkin'. The televised footy is usually on Sunday so you usually have an excuse too.
