Hi, I am having a bit difficulty in finding a 3 week sub for me in August. I don't really know where to post ads and this site requires a little too much money to post an ad.
Do you think I should spend the money, or are there alternative ways to get the word out?
Please respond quickly, because I do not have much time to find someone and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |

Can this be done? Are you at a public school?
I assume your co-teachers would have to take over if this is the case. You'd better have a good excuse. |

you have to pay to advertise on this site but there are other sites, for expats in korea where you may be able to find someone without buying an ad |

Buddy. Getting a substitute teach is hard.
First off. Most of the time a sub teach is going to be illegal. Schools usally want a wayguk English speaker. And the only wayguk people who can teach legally are usually married. And F-2 people probably have a good enough job to not need picking up scraps. And who wants to go to the length of getting a legal teacher for 3 weeks for 3/4 of a basic months salary or whatever.
Next off. Getting a sub teach is hard because even if the school willing to risk illegal teacher they rarely want to pay the money said teacher wants. Heck I have known schools who want the teacher who is going away to pay or give up their wage to pay the teacher.
My advice is look for a friend who can help you. But most friends who rather drink beer with you or move a body then work for three weeks.
Try facebook many people post jobs for part time there too. |
