"Crossing" is fantastic!

I highly recommend you watch it. It is a must-see movie. It is currently playing in theaters.

Even if you don't know Korean it is still very enjoyable. I don't know Korean myself. And anyways, living in Korea, not understanding what people are saying is something you are already used to.

It is about escaping from North Korea. The movie is very realistic.

Check out these two previews of Crossing:

2) Korean Movie "Crossing (2008)" Teaser Trailer

It's great that a movie like this has finally come out so that the world, in
particular South Koreans themselves, know about the evils of North Korea.

Unlike the rest of the world, South Koreans are completely ignorant about the evils of North Korea, which is quite ironic. A movie like this is long over due.

Go see Crossing today!

Cool

Pretty good film, but overly melodramatic ending. Very interesting theme though. I'd recommend it.

If you want to see it with English subtitles, it's playing at Coex Megabox and Daehan Theatre at Chungmuro Stn. Coex has good times (7pm and 9pm) but Daehan only shows English subtitles at 10am and 12pm as far as I know.

If the Melodrama would have been cut out of the movie, it would probably be able to run profitably on the international scene.

The story is good, but the director was going for way too many cheap shots.

Anyone know of a theater in either Jinju or Changwon/Masan that might be showing this with subtitles?

Call up the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) hotline at 1330.

1330 provides information in English about living, visiting and traveling in Korea.

They are operated 24 hours a day.

If your calling from a cellphone you just add the area code before 1330.

If you don't know your area code go to this site to find it out:
http://www.visitkorea.or.kr/enu/GK/GK_EN_2_7_1.jsp

You can call them up and ask them what are the show times and showing locations of a movie your interested in. They will be happy to help you with that.

In fact, I just called them up a few hours ago to do that.

Pass the info about 1330 to other foreigners. It's good to know. 1330 is very helpful.

Here's the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) website about 1330:

Here's the official Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) website:

Good luck!
