So maybe a silly question....

I see that the korean immigration site says that your photos should be 4.5cm by 3.5cm.

When I went to the photo place in Canada, I just got three passport-sized photos (ie, the size that the Canadian gov't wants, which is larger than 4.5 by 3.5cm).

So for you Canadians out there:
Did you specifically get 4.5cmx3.5cm, or did you just send them your "Canadian Passport sized photo"?

Thanks!

For k-immigration and most other visa type applications you will find that any "wallet sized" photo will be acceptable. If they need to they will use the scissors to crop the photo to size.

They are certainly not nearly as anal as the Canadian passport agency when it comes to the photo.

When you go to the studio, call out in clear voice, "Passport size please."
Then sit back, relax and let events take their course.

I was planning on resizing a portrait shot I already have to 'passport' size and just printing them on computer printer paper.

That work? How fickle are they?

Yeah, I was worried about the same thing before I got my visa. I asked for passport-sized photos here in Canada and realized later they were bigger than the ones requested by Korean immigration. Sent them anyway and everything was fine. Got my visa in the mail today.

there's only one size available in Canada?

here (China) there are about 12 different passport sizes at the local Kodak shop.. maybe it depends where you go

if you ask for passport sized in Canada, it is no surprise that you get pictures for a passport from Canada

If you're in Canada doing it just go to the local mall and find one of those photo booths. That's what I did, and it was $4 for 4 pictures and I used them for my alien card and for my Korean driver's license. No problems.
