So I bought my ticket home already (wasnt happy that *I* had to go through the trouble of doing it...but whatever) and I paid for it in May. I gave them all the info needed for reimbursement. I asked when i will receive it, they said August 29th. I am leaving 2 days later.
I mean I paid for this in May?? SO 3 1/2 months later?
Have ppl been getting their money right away for flight reimbursement? I am highly annoyed at this.
(SOOOOOOO COUNTING THE DAYS/HOURS/MINUTES.) |

I am teaching at a public school and am getting my airplane reimbursement on August 29th--2 days after my contract is completed and 1 day after I leave Korea.
They insisted that it had to be after my contract was officially over.
See my recent post about ending a contract at a public school. |

Not everyone who works at a public school has to pay for their return airfare and then get reimbursed. I also don't know of anyone who has been forced to pay for their return airfare 3 1/2 months before the end of the contract.
If I was in a position of being forced to do that I would not be doing it 3 1/2 months before finishing, if I was going to have to wait that long to be reimbursed ... and in a situation where anything could happen to change the date I needed to leave. I mean 3 1/2 months early is even before the date when you need to tell the school whether you are going to just finish the contract or resign for another year. You might decide as you get closer to finishing to spend some time travelling either in country or in another country before going home ... |
