I am willing to pay the right person to keep my dog for one month starting the end of July and ending the end of August. She is a sweet and well behaved Jindogae (about 1 1/2 years old). She does not bark, is completely housetrained, and has never created any problems with the landlady or neighbors. I will provide everything she needs for the month. She just needs to be taken out twice a day to do her business. She will hold it if she can't go out 2 times a day. I have looked into the alternatives of boarding her, but I feel more comfortable with someone taking care of her than the boarding facilities that I have spoken with. Please pm or respond if anyone can help. Thanks so much!

I'm in a similar boat. I was just thinking I would be willing to do a puppy sitting swap, I watch yours, you watch mine, but alas we need sitters at the same time. There are enough pet owners in Korea that we should set up some kind of puppy/kitty sitter swap. Ex. I will babysit over christmas if you look after mine in August.

I just thought I'd throw the idea out there while giving you a bump.

P.S. Mines a little black mutt that is trained to walk without a leash and obey you completely. So if anyone can help out...Aug 2-23

Not sure how flexible your dates are but we'd be willing to take your dog after August 5th when we get back from vacation. We have a Jindo mix and take him out for walks and runs a few times a day, he gets along well with other dogs and would probably enjoy the company for a few weeks. We're in Pohang, however, so I'm not sure if that helps you.

If not, we're putting our dog up at a training facility place near Seoul. I didn't feel comfortable leaving him in a cage with a vet but this place is pretty big and he'll be outside for 5-6 hours a day. They people are super nice and have offered to do lots for us including calling train and bus stations to find out if we could bring the dog on, making reservations at a local hotel and have offered to drive us to the bus station to catch the bus to the airport the next day. We haven't been there yet but it seems like a great place so far. If you want more info I can put you in touch with a friend of the owner who speaks English, he's been very helpful, or let me know if you'd like us to take your dog in August. Can't PM yet so leave a message here.

grainger -- there is a pet sitting network on Facebook but everyone does run into the same problem, we all need sitters at the same time. I believe the group is open to everyone though if you want to join.

Thanks for the helpful input and interest in helping with Claire. My flight leaves on the 27th of July, so I really need to find somewhere for her prior to then. I talked to a few facilities around Seoul that do the kind of boarding that you mentioned (most likely even the one that you are referring to (dog09 in Anseong?)) and I really feel that a better fit for her is to have a stable environment with people that will give her more attention. Thanks again, though!

Grainger, I think the puppy sitting swap idea is a good one, btw.

I can watch dogs for money. I am in Seoul. We have a Shih Tzu and are watching another Shih Tzu for another week or two. Our dog loves other dogs and so do we. PM me if you are interested.

Yes, that is the place I'm talking about -- do you or anyone else know anything about it? It's going to be tough getting our dog there from Pohang but it seems like such a better option than what we've been seeing with vets and such.

If we can figure everything out with our dog, you get stuck and think she'd be okay for a week at the place in Andong we might be able to take her back with us until you return. I'm not even sure we could work out all the details but I know what it feels like to want your dog taken care of and would love to help out. It might be a bit stressful for her though because again, we're in Pohang about 4 hours from Seoul. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Good Luck!
