What can be done about this all?

Make Mom a moderator. Laughing

(good enough joke for ya?) Wink

Sorry, I always have a 'first impression' when I read thread titles, then peek to see what the thread is actually about. So I thought, why would someone complain about the jokesters?

If I were Dave, I would take him to court for endangering his livelihood. He should be taken to the cleaners.

Yeah, how are you going to serve this guy papers. And most likely taking this guy to the cleaners....he probably has no collateral whatsoever. All they would get from me is a pair of Jimmy Choos I bought 3 years ago, try suing me all you can get from me is some maxed out credit cards. In the states if a crime happens outside of a states jursidiction it goes to the feds.... there more worried about other shit then this.

It sucks but really there is nothing you can do. Ban the person, then what, he gets a new e-mail address and goes to a friends computer and gets a new username. it sucks but this is the world wide web where you can say anything you want with a rarely any reprucations. Thats life, there are crazy people out there and always will be and you have to accept it.

If you don't like sonething I choose to ignore it. I get porm pop-ups all the time. You know what I do.... I close it and move on, you people need to do the same.

BTW, how do you become a mod of a forum, I was under the impression the mods lived and worked in Korea??? Are they in Cali

My GOODNESS Lekkar - you are just too interested....

One of my best friends from elementary school is now a porn/advertising web moderator back in the States. He gets paid shit loads to make sure advertisements and videos are running smoothly. Hanging out at his house when he is doing work, I get to see what he is doing. I've seen it all. Nothing can shock me any more. I have become desensitised.

Was it a picture of a murder victim or a child being molested? If it was something along those lines, then yes, it is illegal and something should be done, like tracking down the IP address, going to the PC Bang, and looking at the surveilance cameras and going after the person.
If it is simply porn, then yeah, it's bad, but you can't be prosecuted for that.

Lekker wrote:
If porn is so illegal here, why do they have spank PC Bangs where you can go in and watch porn and spank one off? These exist here. There's one in Anyang. And sorry, but smoking weed in Amsterdam is actually illegal. I know. I have many Dutch friends.

A few weeks ago someone posted a photo of a woman performing oral sex on a man, but she was vomitting all over the place at the same time. The posting was titled "No Spliff I will not sleep with you," or something along those lines. It was really sick, then someone posted something like "won't be long before this will be deleted."

There's nothing you can do except to accept that you are one of the unlucky ones who saw it. Kind of like going into a shopping center in America and getting shot by some crazed lunatic with a gun who happens to go on a shooting spree the same day you go on a shopping spree. The only way to stop it is to ban guns. But what are you going to do in this circumstance? Ban computers? Good luck with that in Korea.

I agree. That avatar is a little strange and messed up.

Anyway people. This is the freaking Korean forums of Dave's. This place is messed up. It also has been edgy and nasty.

Personally, I never check this site at my job because I know it is messed up. This is what it is.

Relax everyone. That guy (aquafresh) was a joke and handled swiftly. Better would be to take away his avatar and let his personality take over. He/She would go away.

No, he was not handled swiftly. He is the one responsible for the 25 post limit before being able to PM other. He is the one responsible for not being able to post pics anymore. He will now be the one responsible for the loss of avatars.

He won't go away. He will continue to come back here under new IDs using new IPs unless and until legal steps are taken to rip him a new asshole.

If Dave sues, wouldn't the defendant have to be in the U.S.? Or, could Dave have someone sue him in Korea if he is over here?

Kevin is back in the States. He hates Korea in general and Dave in particular. He is not in Korea.

Perhaps this forum needs more moderators. I own and operate a large forum and we try to have at least one moderator on at all times.

A big problem is the software this forum runs on. It would be much wiser to invest a little money into something like vbulletin. I have the forum set up so you can report posts or members. The report goes to a moderator forum and issues get dealt with quickly.

What can be done about this all? Imagine opening up a thread and seeing that. What is up with these people, anyway? I guess Korea attracts too many people who seem really sick and juvenile. Can they be prosecuted? I am not sure how US law works with dealing with American or Canadian citizens posting bad images. Anyway, I am tired of some of the idiots on Dave's posting certain images.

I'm sure that somehow you will get through it. Push through the pain.
