The reason I keep changing is that I'm on the endless quest to find the one. The one true avatar that will represent & define me, that will stand alone as the true face of Stormy.....that will not need any words to accompany it 'cos all who see it will instantly recognise all I want to say.

That can be a tall order. I've had variations on mine since 2004, when a long departed poster suggested her to me. Perhaps we can recommend avs for others here too?

To stick with the theme, here's a youtube version of a great one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvlHN95cui4

It's freaking long though!

Who is that in your avatar peppermint? I feel like I should know....but I don't.

Bettie Page, pinup girl from the fifties. I mostly like the juxtaposition of a girl next door grin and a whip

Oh that's gorgeous.....I love medieval art. Do you do it professionally or as a hobby?

No, I was just kopping them off the net to use on some webpages I was making--hobby. It's a scanned copy from an ancient tome some monks probably made in the middle ages.

Yes it is a dazzling combo! A whip in the fifties seems rather lewd. It's amazing how much the avatar becomes the 'face' of the person on-line. It would be so very sad if they took avs away.

Kikomom, sounds like some sweet webpages. Any links? I'm having a sickie today so have lots of time to browse the web....

Oops, thought you said Betty Boop and that reminded me of the dirty nurses the skaters have on their boards. Cool

Here's another illuminare gussied up by an artist friend of mine (for the kindies)

Check my blogspot link in my profile. The 'As Promised' has the pet pages, and then there's http://www.geocities.com/kiko_in_pa/ but some of the music (midi) links don't play anymore due to player malfunction. Might still work in IE though (I quit IE and only use FF now).

That was mostly just playing around, learning how to do them (but I kinda got carried away after awhile)

Laughing Laughing Laughing Just checked out that one with Winnie the Pooh & all his mates sightseeing. That's just hilarious! Now that would make a good avatar.

Will have a look at your stuff when I stop chuckling over that last one.

The avatar of the cat with headphones listening to music and dancing in what appears to be a convenience store background is my favorite. I can be following a thread, then see that avatar, get mesmerized for 5 minutes in a "moment of Zen" then completely forget what the hell I was reading and/or concerned about.

Awesome work
